"I'm not retiring because I'm tired of teacliing," stoutly declared Miss Lillian Wiggins, principal of Benton Avenue School, yesterday afternoon between greetings and farewells to ihe scores of former pupils and friends who attended the tea given in her honor- by the Parent-Teachers i Association of the school. Keeping the gathering laughing witn. her recollections and stories, Miss Wiggins received her friends in a hallway banked with flowers pre! sented to her during the day by pupils of the school and set a pace which would have exhausted many a younger woman. "I'm so excited," she confided toward the end of the afternoon when Ihe throng had thinned a Jutt soy: CHARGE IT! BUTLER'S over her teacup as she sal in one of the children's classroom seats. Miss Wiggins asserted.

''No one's ever had more fun out of teaching. I have only happy memories." Asked what she planning to do after her retirement, she shrugged expressive shoulders and replied "Enjoy life." She admitted friends had advised her to get a hobby and not let down. "But," she scoffed "can you imagine me letting Bronze boofrends which Miss Wiggins fondly called her children were presented to her by the PTA at the tea. She wore a corsage which was the gift of Mrs. R.

L. Smith, president of the association. Mrs. Richard Perry and Mrs. John Laconare poured at the tea table.
