The Orphans' Store, Chesnutst above Twelfth, has been imposed upon within a few days part by notes upon different broken banks, passed upon the lady in attend ance) by well dressed fmalti, to the amount of twenty five dollars. We have lately heard of numerous instance of bad i otes having been lanen irora two or tnree very good looking and well dressed females, which in the aggregate would form a pretty round sura. In all of these banks, and not counterfeit From th frequency of these impositions, hav reason to believe that there ia a nest of swindlers somewhere in the city who procu the notes of broken benks, and make a business of passing them off upon the community through the agency of these females. In all the cases wo havo beard of, the passers are described as young ladies of genteel address and good appearance, end well calculated to allay any suspicion sgainst them, even when the notes ar detected and refused. They bsve thus fsr practised their game very succewfully and we advise every person, to whom the note of a broken bank is offered, to hold those attempting to impose it upon them accountable for an attempt to swindle, or to a satisfactory explana tion of the source whence it was received, aod hew it came into their hands.

At present it puz zles even those publications expressly devoted to detecting counterfeits and broken bants, to guard their readers agsinst tha impositions of swindlers. An admirable currency this of oura We have heard of riding so rapidly throurh the air that it took ten men to hold one man's bair on but it would take, more than double that number to keep a person in business frosaeieing swindlsd by mean of counterfeit or broken bank notes, "sad than thsy couldn't do it."
