Marguerite 'Maggie' McDonald Wallace WAS a member of two ancient Scottish Clans, MacDonald and Wallace, and was of ScottishCanadian descent. She is the daughter of the past Captain John Henry McDonald, Canadian Horse Artillery of Nova Scotia and the past Edith Ormstrom McDonald of London, England. She was married to Robert Stuart Wallace at Stanford University Church in 1951 and has been his active and effective helper for many years in all of his numerous civic and University Programs and activities where he was a long time Director or Officer of the Beverly Hills YMCA, the Harvard Club of Southern California and the Ivy League Association, the Stanford and Menlo Alumni Associations, the Black Foxe Academy and as past Province Governor of the Delta Upsilon International Fraternity, and President of the Delta Upsilon Alumni Club of Los Angeles. Maggie was a long-time member of the Balboa Bay Club of Newport Beach, the California Yacht Club of Marina Del Rey, the St. Andrews Scottish Society and the National Charity League of Los Angeles.

She was also a founding member and officer of the Pismo Island Sinking and Sailing Society of Newport Beach. In her sailing activities and social programs, she was a good "sailor" and a first class shipmate and friend much loved by all. She was a very wellknown and well-liked throughout her years in the entertainment industry. She had been closely associated with many top radio and TV personalities, productions, agencies and sponsors over the years.

She was involved with assisting major producers and directors, hiring talent, and timing major live TV shows. Well-known shows that she worked with include "'The Motion Picture Academy Awards," "The Television Academy Awards," the "Johnny Carson Show," the "Lawrence Welk Show," the "Dinah Shore Show," the "Colgate Comedy Hour," the "Red Skelton "This Life," the "Jack Benny Show," the "Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis Show," Love "Our Miss "Sam Spade," "Bob Crosby's Club 15 Show," "This is My among others. Maggie was associated with Orson Welles for several years working closely with him in production as well as handling many of his private operations, both business and personal. She WAS also associated with the Andrew Sisters, Liberace, Charlton Heston, Harry Belafonte, Gene Autry, Sammy Davis Tom Jones, Jimmy Durante, Jane Powell, and Giselle McKenzie, to name a few. She held important positions at CBS with Ben Paley and at NBC where she was the Western Representative in charge of NBC Program Spectaculars under Nate Wolfe of New York.

Maggie's great loves and avocations were her family, her TV friends and activities, helping people, foreign travel, dancing, sailing, little children, flowers, zoos, and ladybugs. In her pursuits she always went "beyond the call of duty." She has been truly loved and will be missed by all. He was 83. De Quay died Thursday at his home in Beers in the southern part of the Netherlands, his family said Friday. No cause of death was given.

Educated as a psychologist, he later was a professor of psychology at the University of Tilburg. De Quay was one of the founders of the Dutch Union in 1940. After the invasion of the Netherlands that year by Germany, the union set itself up as a political force whose aim was to come to an accommodation with the German occupiers that would prevent the feared imposition of an occupation government dominated by the Dutch Nazi Party. Kept Hostage by Germans However, the union was banned by the Germans in 1941 after it refused to support the German invasion of the Soviet Union, and De Quay was subsequently kept hostage by the Germans. He was released later during the war but was barred by the Germans from political activity.

De Quay's wartime political activity was seen in retrospect by his fellow countrymen not as collaboration but as an attempt to prevent the total Nazi domination of all elements of Dutch life, which ultimately befell the Netherlands. Under his leadership it grew from a membership of 147 non- -Roman Catholic churches in 44 countries to an organization of 300 churches that represented about 400 million Christians in more than 100 countries. Visser 'T Hooft played a leading role in promoting ecumenical dialogue with the Roman Catholic Church and in bringing Orthodox Christian churches into the council. His many theological books and other published writings focused on the spiritual renewal of churches and the common calling of Christians. The books were translated into many languages.

Visser 'T Hooft was born Sept. 20, 1900, in Haarlem in the Netherlands. He served with a student federation before and during the war, and was credited with helping Jews flee Nazi Germany. Visser 'T Hooft's wife, Henriette, died in 1968. They had two sons and one daughter.
