i Roanoke, Mar. 6, 1868. The 17th of March will bring our town quite a number of old students. that have attended school heretofore, and with them a number of new ones, which will make our place more lively than it has been during the vacation. What a pleasure it will be to take the old students by the hand and welcome them to our school and town and enjoy the 'instructions of our old benefactor.

Prof. Reefy, who is always ready and willing (when we do our part,) to explain1 any difficult problem that occurs in our daily lessons. May we all come together, this Spring with a will to obtain more knowledge than during any past term. A great many old students who attended, heretofore are so situated that they cannot be here. Some are practicing law others engaged in the practice of medicine, and a few preaching the Others are engaged in teaching the rising generation to read and write and prepare them for the business of life.

A few out of our number have died what a sad thought to record who but a few months ago were in the bloom of health and enjoying their school days at Roan oke. Long will they live in the mem ory of their fellow students for their amiable society and corteous manners toward those with whom they were associated. We will soon have to! follow in the footprints of those last mentioned. Let us all try to live so that that the human family may be bettered by our liv ing in the world, and tnat our names will not soon be As students let ns try this term to accomplish' more than we ever did before, and make it pleasant to ourselves and. teachers.
