Wright appeared la behalf of the citizens of the Second ward in reference to the widening of Billings street, between Mount Vernon and State streets. He asked that a com mittee be appointed to confer with the property owners to see If condemnation proceedings could avoided. Mr. Morriag stated that the property owners asked $300 for the necessary ground to widen tho street A motion to appoint the committee aeked for by Mr. Wright was carried.

The mayor. Councilman Schurman and A. D. Alien are the members of the committee. Mr.

Whltlock stated that the finance committee found the Issuance of $3,500 In bonds necessary for the payment of the appropriation bill with the salaries of all city employes added. The appro priation bill was then read again for the payment of all bills, salaries and accounts due. Before tho matter came to a vote Mayor Bartlett stated that he was strongly opposed to the Issuance of the bonds.
