''LLDnUQ OTORZ. ARE DISSATISFIED in Farmers Do Not Like Price of Mixed DUMP IT IN THE RIVER? Many of Them Will Mow Crop Will riant Much Corn In the Spring. More or lesB general dlasatlsfactlon among the fanners in the county because of the rather low price that Is being paid for hay in the local markets is perhaps the cause of the lull iu that product One farmer who was in the city from the southern part of the county said that before he will bring his hay to, the city and get $8 a ton for it he will take it. to the Wabash river and dump it in the foaming tide. He says that the price hay Is bringing in the local markets will not begin to pay for the price of the labor necessary to cut It, the barn room to house It, and the trouble of bringing it, to the city.

It is a fact that the price in Hunt ington just at present is low, but this is only the natural result of the lm mens crop in mixed hay. Early In the spring It waB known that mixed hay was to be the major part of the hay crop, but the heaviness far exceeds the expectations of the farmers. For this reason the price of mixed hay is low, and the prospects at pre sent are that this price will not get much bigger the remainder of the season. Hay Is just beginning to move, and the farmers will come very nearly being compelled to bring the hay to the city or leave it in their mows, and run the risk of damage from half a dozen different sources. Some of them will leave It In their mows and keep In close touch with the market the rest of the year to see when the price goes up to a place where they can see their way clear to sell their crop and then bring it to the city.

The farmer from the southern end of the county says that as long at the price continues as it is now he will not bring the hay to the city; will put it In the mow and then In the spring will not put any of bis farm in hay. He Intends to plow up the fields that he had In hay this season for corn next year. Farmers seem to be buoyed up with the high price of corn, and one of the local elevator men said Tuesday that they all talk as if there was never to be a drop in the price. He Bays some of them are likely to be disappointed it they plant a large amount of corn next year. The price of timothy hay will in all probability raise the latter part of the season.

The farmers know from the, present 'Indications of the crop, and there is iikeiy to uuie doing In this kind of hay until at least later inthe fall This crop Is very scarce and will probably be a sort of curiosity the latter part of the winter.
