ME Mark your calendars for a season of fun at area attractions Memorial Day Weekend is traditionally the gateway to summer. Although many warm-weather attractions have been operating weekends-only during May, the season goes into full swing now. Here's a list that should help you and your family plan summer activities. Save it WiSTE KATZ3. So you've already careened over Black River Falls, you've taken the Caribbean Plunge, you've splished-splashed in the Atlanta Ocean and you've floated lazily down the Little Hooch.

But you havent experienced The Tidal Wave, the newest attraction at the 35-acre water park beginning its seventh season. Here's how the much-touted Wave works: Adventurers take their place at the foot of a huge, clear cylinder that slowly fills with 200 gallons of water. When the cylinder is full, all 200 gallons will be released at once, and the daredevil will be swept away down a 250-foot flume through twists and turns and ultimately to a splashdown in the Little Hooch. There are actually two Tidal Waves in constant operation. The 40-acre water park, the most-visited such park in the Southeast, is ranked No.

1 in the country by the Water Park Association (which recently elected as its president Ned Stancliff, White Water vice-president and general manager). More than 700,000 got wet here last season. In Aprilmembers of the American Coaster Enthusiasts had their annual meeting at Six Flags so they could experience the Cyclone's fury. The Crystal Pistol stage show will feature the entire Looney Tunes gang in The Best of Times," which traces the halfentury through Bugs's perspective Also, there'll be special activities in Bugs Bunny Land for the little ones.

The 331-acre theme park, which now has more than 100 rides, opened in 1967 and hosted 1.2 million in its first season. Back in those days, the Log Flume-and Mine Train were the most popular rides.
