Lovely Antique Jewels rjlHERE is a certain beauty and charm about antique Jewelry that nothing else can possess. It gains in beauty with the passing years and increases in value accordingly.

Many stories of intrigue, romance and even death are linked, with famous Jewels and when a person gains possession of such a piece they will go to aiy ex trenie to keep lta whereabout si secret. Such a piece or rather two pieces, are owned by a Springfield woman and they have many stories and legends attached to them. They are a bracelet and necklace of solid gold in ornate design set with genuine emeralds and pearls. Tbey are of that soft rich roman gold finish and elaborately handcarved in a leaf design. They were both made entirely by hand and would be Impossible to duplicate by our modern goldsmiths.

The exact age of the pieces is not known, but they are known to be over a hundred years old. They formerly belonged to a Russian countess, who, after losing large sums of money at roulette, pawned them to a money lender. Through some circumstance they were never redeemed and were later purchased by 'a. brother of the present owner while in the old country. These two pieces are only a small part of the many Jewels which were pawned by the countess, but the rest of the collection la no doubt scattered I 1 a MA over the world.

Unlike most kept in strict hiding, every one is see them aa they are on display In downtown.
