Sunday utMt rZSrt red rate! ZZmL TUmVA York Imi. mmw EVENING HEHALD, HUNTINGTON, INDIANA. FiGE THEIX Purdue Experiment Station Ready to Test Seed. WORK FREE OF CHARGE Farmers and Dealers Muy Take Ad vunlaec of Establishments Vital Statistics (ihen After being closed from July to September, when practically no samples are as a rule sent in for inspection and analysis, the seed testing laboratory of Purdue experiment station has been reopened and is now ready to receive and analyze for Indiana larmers and seed dealers samples of small seed. The laboratory was established in February, 1910, by the seed laboratory of the bureau of plant Industry U.

S. department of agriculture extension department, of Purdue, university. Since1 Its establishment, it has examined and reported upon 803 samples. These reports give to the senders an accurate estimate of the kinds of weed seed Impurities present and the number of seeds of each kind present per pound of seed, of the quality sent, adulterations present and amount of "each, amount of inert matter present, weed seeds scattered on each square rod of land when seed of a given quality is used, also the per cent of seed of the kind sent that will germinate. All these things the farmer should know about the seed before he makes his selection of seed to go on the ground.

Many a farmer Is a heavy loser because he puts in his seed without knowing these things, thereby befouling his farm with weeds and getting a poor stand by reason of the low vitality of the seed. The careful examination of seed before buying and sowing Is now recognized to be indispensable in successful corn production. A farmer or seed dealer may do this for himself or he may take advantage of the free seed testing laboratory provided at the Purdue experiment Expert and accurate work can be depended upon. The laboratory is in a position this season to make reports promptly. Germination tests, it may be stated, take from six days for clover and alfalfa to thirty days for blue grass.

A purity test can be made in a few hours. Farmers and dealers are urged to take advantage of this opportunity of getting advice and assistance in selecting high grade seed. Of clover or alfalfa seed, send two or three ounces taken from different parts of sacks bins where possible; of grass seed, tit one to one ana a nan ounces win suffice. Address Agricultural Extension Department, Purdue Experiment Station, Lafayette, Indiana. CURES RHEUMATISM If It Pont You Can Get'Your Money Back, Say Bradley Bros.

Now, when Bradley the well known druggists, make such an offer as that, where, oh, where, is the man or woman full of uric acid poison, which is the same as rheumatism, who Is going to turn it down? Bradley Bros, have sold a whole lot of Rheuma these last few months, and if it didn't do as advertised, they could not afford to make the "offer. Here is more proof: Porter Smith, Dobbin. W. writes: "I have been a great sufferer from rheuma' tlsm for about twenty six years, and the disease had become chronic. I began taking Rheuma with little faith In Its virtues, but was better from the first day I began its use, and at this time have no more pains." February 20, 1910.

Rheuma never shirks its duty. It begins with the first dose to act on the kidneys, liver, stomach and blood, and. to eliminate rheumatic poison from the whole system. 50 fcents at Bradley Bros, or mailed by Rheuma Buffalo, N. Y.

IS Some Merchants Have Been "Buying Recently. QUALITY SAID TO BE GOOD Fall Work Has Been Keeping Market Qulctr Customary Drop Did Not Come Poultry Market. Already farmers of Huntington county are beginning to market their surplus hay.

In the last week several big loads have been disposed of to the several merchants in Huntington. Most of the fall work is done and everybody has a chance to get rid of some of the holdings. The hay which has been coming to town has been mostly 1 new tim othy and is of the best quality. For this the farmer Is receiving one of the best prices for this season of the year. At this time the price of hay generally falls to a very low consideration, but, the fact that none has been coming has kept the price up.

Although there has been possibly more clover and mixed hay made than pure timothy yet the bulk of the offerings are of the latter. The reason for, this is obvious. Pure timothy sells the best while the mixed hay is preferred by many farmers for feed. POULTRY MARKET. In the poultry market the selling has been very heavy.

Many people are selling their spring fries which makes the situation crowded. Although the present quotations are holding steady there fs a likelihood of a change.
