Mrs. Grover C. Tranum BLAINE, W. Va. Mrs.

Helen Marie Tranum, 71, of Potomac Manor, W. died early yester. day in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, where she was admitted Saturday. Born in Lonaconing, 29, 1890, was a daughter of the late Theodore and Anna (Duckworth) Spiker. She was a former resident of Kitzmiller.

Her husband, Grover C. Tranum, died in 1949. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Madeline Michaels, RD 5. Cumberland: four sons, Charles Alquippa, George Tranum, at home.

Harry Tranum, Lancaster, Ohio, and Hugh Tranum, Jamestown, N. seven grandchildren; one sister. Mrs. Harvey, Kitzmiller; and one brother, Charles Spiker, Piedmont. The body is at the Sharpless Funeral Home.

Mason observed that he supported the establishment of Allegany Community College last June, supported increased pay for county teachers and favored the building of additions now under construction at Parkside and Gephart elementary schools. He voted for the establishment of the County Sanitary Commission which is attempting to solve the sewage disposal and water supply needs of the county. He is chairman of the Potomac Valley Dairy Herd Improvement Association, member and past president of Potomac Valley Lions Club, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Cumberland Country Club. He is married to the former Miss Harriett Nelson. of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Nelson.
