and Donna A. Hartwell. He retired in 1989 as Assistant Advertising Director of the Palm Beach Post, after 42 years in the advertising department of the newspaper. He was past president of Florida Newspaper Advertising and Marketing Executives; past president of the Advertising Club of the Palm Beaches; past president of Sales and Marketing Executives of the Palm Beaches; and past president of Palm Beach High School Wildcats of '43-'44, Inc. Ho served as treasurer of the American Heart Association, Palm Beach County Chapter, in which he was active for 15 years.

A graduate of Palm Beach High School, Class of 1943, he also attended the university of Florida. A World War II Veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy Air Corps, 1943-1946. He was a member of Temple Israel, Lake Worth Pioneer Association, and Alliance for the Mentally III. Every moment a flash of genius from a man who enriched everyone's lives. He was an Attorney, former State Legislator of 14 years, former Candidate for Lieutenant Governor, former Candidate for Mayor of Savannah, Former Attorney for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. He was Founder and CEO of the National Legal Network, Inc. for 15 years. He was a member of Alphi Phi Alpha Fraternity, Former member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, Former member of the Savannah State University Alumni Association, Former President of the Savannah State NAACP Chapter, Former Man of the Year for Savannah State University, Past President of the Debating Society at Savannah State University, Past President of Howard University Law Students, and was listed in Who's Who Among African Americans.

He was Past President of the GA Association of Black Elected Officials, and was named Legislator of the year by the Atlanta Journal and Constitution. He is survived by his mother, Fannie Hill of Athens, GA; son, Ashley Kill of Tampa, FL; daughter, Jessi Cleaver, of New York; two brothers, Bid Hill, Jr. and Robert Hill; two sisters, Virginia Bates and Patricia Hill Stuart both of Seattle, Washington. A veteran of World War II, he joined the 2nd Armored Division in 1941 under General Patton and participated in the North African and European campaigns through VE-Day. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with six Bronze Stars. After the war he married Katherine Yaros from Trenton, New Jersey.

His professional career began with the Georgia Power Company and ended after 37 years with the City of Covington, responsible for operations of the Water and Sewage Departments. He was active in the Elks Club, American Legion, Masons, VFW and a long time member of the Episcopal Church.
