Susie was bom in Anderson, SC, grew up in Charlotte, NC and attended the Country Day School. She graduated from U.N.C. and finished her studies at the Katherine Gibbs School in New York. Her career covered many phases of the music and recording business. She worked with Bill Lowery In Atlanta where she earned the name "Music Susan" and was active in the annual Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards.

At DA Music she was director of artist and repertoire, won four gold records for her boxed sets of classic jazz, and wrote extensive biographical liner notes on many early blues performers, whose vintage recordings she loved and ardently sought to introduce to a new generation. Susan's wide professional experience was always at the service of younger newcomers, who acknowledged her as mentor. Her final position was with Capitol-EMI Music in New York. Susan's love of life and gentleness touched all who knew her. She freely shared her happiness, and her laughter was a gift to us all.

During her final illness her strength of spirit banished sadness and fear, and sustained her family and friends. Her smiling last words were "I have a lot of love." Susan crossed over into her light with beauty and dignity. She abides always in our hears. Mike graduated from Henry McNeal Turner High School in 1973. Michael also attended Fort Valley State University. A dedicated employee of the Atlanta Journal and Constitution, Mike enjoyed his work and his coworkers inmensely. Mike was also the athlete of the family.

When given a basketball at the age of two or three, his very first effort at scoring a basket very nearly met with success, a remarkable accomplishment, if you think about it. He played varsity football i and basketball while in attendance at Turner High School, varsity basketball while at Fort Valley State and played basketball with the City Wide League of Atlanta. Mike had an ex-' cellent basketball game when in his prime. It i is believed by many that had he experienced his final growth spurt during high school, when he would've received more attention from coaches, he'd have gone a bit further than he did with his sports career, His dream, as with many, was the A.
