THE ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, Dec. 8, 1981 Freedom Hall To Open With 8-Day M.L.K. Fete By Joe Brown Constitution Staff Writer The Freedom Hall Complex of the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Non-violent Change in downtown Atlanta will, open with an eight-day celebration in January to commemorate the 53rd anniversary of the birth of the slain civil rights leader. According to Mrs.

Coretta Scott King, president of the 14- year-old center named for her husband, special events will be held there Jan. 10-16 and on Jan. 19. "The 1982 observance of my husband's birthday will be especially meaningful for everyone who recognizes the importance of keeping the dream alive," said Mrs. King.

The new complex, located at the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site on Auburn Avenue, includes a three-story conference cultural center with a 250-seat auditorium, screening rooms, meeting facilities, gift shop and cafeteria. Deaths Retired Real Estate Exec A.P. Whitehead Dies Services for retired Atlanta real-estate executive A.P. Whitehead, 68, of Atlanta will be at 2 p.m.

Tuesday at Sandy Springs Chapel, burial in Westview Cemetery. Mr. Whitehead, founder and owner of the Whitehead Realty and Loan died Sunday. A retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army, Mr.

Whitehead was a veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was graduate of the University of Georgia and a member of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. Dr. Stubbs' Rites To Be Wednesday Memorial services for Dr. Trawick Hamilton Stubbs of Atlanta will be at 3 p.m.

Wednesday at Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church. Dr. Stubbs, who worked full time in Georgia's mental health program for more than 20 years, died Monday. He retired from the state Department of Human Resources in 1978. Reared in Savannah, Dr.

Stubbs received his college and medical degrees at Emory University and his master of public health degree at Harvard University, where he also studied community mental health. Dr. Stubbs was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Atlanta and held a number of district and conference offices in the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Cornelia Taylor Stubbs; son, Trawick Hamilton Stubbs Jr.

of New Bern, N.C.; daughter, Katherine Cameron Stubbs of Los Angeles; sisters, Mrs. Hattie Stubbs Dickson of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Daisy H. Stubbs of Decatur, and brothers, William B. Stubbs of Decatur and Dr. David C.

Stubbs of Valdosta. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 265 Washington St. S.W., Atlanta, Ga. 30334. Mrs.

Scandalakis Services for Mrs. Marika Scandalakis, 82, of Atlanta will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation, burial in Arlington Memorial Park. Mrs. Scandalakis, homemaker, died Saturday.

She was a native of Greece and member of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation: Survivors include her daughters, Mrs. Matoula Drakakis of Daytona Beach, Mrs. Georgia Vorvolakos and Mrs. Calliope Skoufis, both of Atlanta, and Mrs. Tasia Vrettacos of Pittsburgh, Pa; and sons, John Scandalakis of Atlanta, Nicholas Scandalakis of Athens, Greece, and Renos Scandalakis and Dionysios Scandalakis, both of Daytona Beach.

Charles C. Biddle RALEIGH, N.C. Serve ices for Charles C. Biddle, 77, of Atlanta, will be at 11 a.m: Thursday at Brown- Wynne Funeral Home Chapel at 300 St. Mary's Street here, burial in Raleigh National Cemetery.

Mr. Biddle, a retired civil engineer for the state of Pennsylvania, died Monday in Atlanta. Survivors include his sons, James Biddle of Atlanta and Charles C. Biddle Jr. of Spring Lake, N.C.; and brother, Dr.
