The 256-room hotel, operated by Stouffer's, is part of a 185-acre complex in the Lake: Lanier Islands development Pinelsle, Stouffer's 15th hotel property nationally and third operation in the Greater Atlanta area, features a golf course designed by Ron Kirby and Associates and Gary Player, "one of the finest golf resorts anywhere," according to general manager Marvin Krein.

In addition, the resort has four tennis courts, an indooroutdoor swimming pool, shuffleboard courts, saunas, outdoor game area and both golf and tennis pro shops. Pinelsle's hotel tops its 256 rooms with four two-bedroom suites. Guests have a choice of dining in the Pavilion, described as "an elegant specialty restaurant overlooking Lake Lanier," or a coffee shop. Also in the hotel are Sidney's, a lounge, and the Safari Room nightclub. The hotel features two ballrooms on separate levels.

The Sidney Lanier ballroom has reception accommodations for, groups of up to 500 and ban- being developed downtown. The 471-room hotel, scheduled to open in the fall, "will introduce a new concept to American hospitality" ao cording to Max president of Omni International Hotels, Inc. "We will offer something not found in other hotels in this country today, a feeling of luxury and personal service that will make a stay in an Omni hotel a beautiful new experience," he said. Schnallinger cited the doormen for the Atlanta Omni as one example of the level of personal service to be offered. Guests will be greeted at the I quet facilities for 435.

The Penthouse ballroom which opens onto a sundeck can accommodate receptions of up to 380 people and banquets for 330, a Stouffer's spokesman says. Several smaller meeting rooms and suites enable Pinelsle to handle meetings for as many as 1,000 people when usee in conjunction' with its ballroom facilities. Pinelsle's opening comes just one week before the opening of Stouffer's Green-way Plaza Hotel in Houston. In Atlanta, the company operates Stouffer's Atlanta Inn and the Top of the Mart restaurant.
