About 25 senior Georgians have been nominated as "Georgia's Outstanding Older Citizen," according to the State Commission on Aging, which still is accepting nominations. The title will be awarded one of the nominees during the State White House Conference on Aging here May 2-4.

Time for the announcement has not been set. The "Outstanding Older Citizen" will be selected by a special committee of the State Commission on Aging, which already is studying the nominations. Although nominations are being accepted from the public, the recipient will be picked on the basis of accomplishments rather than the number of nominations, according to Evans Hall, commission public information officer. "This is not a vote-getting contest," Hall explained. The commission plans to honor the man or woman 65 or older whose contributions to society best demonstrates "the value of the experience, wisdom, compassion created within individuals through the passage of years." SORENSON Mrs. Ruth So- In New York A fugitive sought by Atlanta police since September was arrested in New York City, returned to the Fulton County JaiL A warrant was out for Nathaniel Strickland, 25, since he as indicted Sept. 22 by the Fulton County Grand Jury in connection with the fatal shooting of George Henderson, 39, at a Gordon Road apartment two days before. Strickland is charged with shooting the victim as he slept in a bedroom of the apartment at 3804 Gordon Road and with shooting a woman who was in the room with the victim at time, then fleeing in an Two Italians Killed By Shying Horse GIULIANOVA, Italy (UPI) A shying horse crashed into a pole and sent its sulky smashing into a crowd during a trotting race on Giulianova's main street. A 69-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman were killed and seven persons, including the driver, were injured.
