The 10 points were achieved on a 32-yard field goal by sophomore Cam Bonifay in the second quarter, and a typical 28-yard touchdown run by the relatively unused All-America candidate Brent Cunningham in the fourth quarter. Otherwise, the two teams spent the rest of the afternoon in an exercise of tedium and ineffectual attacking thrusts, the results of which only the victor could feel the time had been well-spent. Tailback Ricky Lake capped Georgia's only sustained drive with a one-yard plunge into the Greenie end zone with 8:54 remaining. The partisan crowd of 51,543 wasn't able to relax, however, until Braswell tacked on the 31-yard goal. Rambunctious Tulane, featuring a well-disciplined and hard-hitting outfit, stymied the Bulldog offensive machine which had stampeded past Oregon State, 56-25, in the opening game last Saturday. The Greenies, who had upset Georgia in the first game' last season, bad illu- games at Arkansas State and one at Tulane, saw his skein end in the last period of his first trip to Athens. Johnson and his playmates needed a colossal break to complete their winning 80-yard drive.

The Greenies had parlayed a pass interception into a 29-yard TD thrust, with soph fullback Ricky Hebert rambling nine scoring yards for a 7-7 tie on the last play of the third period. The aroused visitors forced a punt after the kickoff and Jimmy Shirer booted a 49-yarder to Joe Bullard down on the Greenie 23. At that juncture Georgia didn't appear en route to an 80-yard TD, but a personal foul gave the Bulldogs the ball again at the Greenie 41. JOHNSON THEN shifted the offense into high gear and Georgia went ahead for keeps. See ANDY'S, Page 13-D sions of an encore until the final period.

By RON HUDSPETH Speolal to The Journal-Countltutlea LOS ANGELES The place is Dodger Stadium. If one looked closely through the stifling smog around Chavez Ravine Saturday afternoon, he could see it.
