1879. LOCAL HATTERS. A Great Stock Ranch. ny reference to our now advertisements It will be seen that Mr. II.

C. Hooker Is offering; for sale his magnificent proporty In Camp Grant Valley. With tho restless onergy chnnictorlstlc of tho man. Mr Hooker lias for number of years so en lnrgod mid scattered his business invest- meuts that they have become too varied anu extensive for the proper and neces- sury supervision. Mr.

Hooker thought he could attend to his various other enter prises una ai tho snmo time undertake and carry on a colossal stock business. But while he has been highly successful In the latter undertaking he has also dis covered tiiatltwas demandlnga monop oly of his attention, to tho detriment, and injury of his oxtenslve undertakings else where. He Is therefore compelled to sac rifice one or the other, and the unfinished stale of his mining and other ventures compels him tondheic lo them, and to re luctantly give up tils beautiful stock ranch Mt the most propitious period or snr-ii n. terprises in Arizona. Wo have long on-vlel ills proprietorship of the Sierra Bo-nlto and surrounding property.

The properties are situated in one of the finest valleys ol the southeastern, and prospectively richest, section of this Territory. The valley in which these properties are friuiaied Is an immense stretch of rich, grassy land, level as a floor, lying between the Graham Mountains on the east and the Gnliuros on the west. This property of Mr. Hookor controls tho mngnltleont water and grass muse betwoen these mountain chains anil stretching north and south some twenty miles. The lands are covered with the richest and moit muri um grasses, and the peculiarities of the climate aflord the finest of iirnzlnir the year round.

The winters are so mild that any loes of cattle from exposure or cold is unknown. Ascending from the east side of the lauds you rise into the Graham mountains. Interspersed with most beautiful valleys and mountain slopes and crests, wooded with pine, juniper and oak and aboundlne with deer, antelope and other came. The Galium mountains on the west are heavily wooded with onk, and running into them from the vallej are numerous shady, grassy and wntered ravines, to which the nock resort In the heat of Summer days. Mr.

Hooker, at the inception of this undertaking, had the pick of sites for a stock iiinch In Southern Arizona, and selected his location as being the most favorable and promising of ail. He intended to make ll the model stock ranch of the Territory and second to none in tills country. With this view he paid particular att-i-ntkm to the grading of stock and has from time to time Im ported some of the Itest blood that could be obtained for money. Ills stallions, brood mare-5 and offspring Iiuvo attracted a great, ileal or attention anu numtraiion, and he lias long iwen celebrated for hav- lu the finest blooded and trotting horses In Uie Territory. With equal care and expenditure, lie imported and graded his cattle, and the entire body of his herds are fine and graded stock.

At the Sierra Bonlln ranch, the main and central fea ture of the property, are fine and exten sive buildings, windmills and corrals, afloniiut; every convenience for dairy and slock purposes and the comforts of a luxurious country residence. At the oiher ranches are also extensive buildings and corrals. Mo-t of the improvements are comparatively new and ail in gooa order. The field Is so large and the j-ossibllltles so great that what Mr. Hooker lias accomplished, with wonderful euergy, in a few years, is after ail but the initial of what can be accomplished on the plaoe.

We nave no hesitation in saying that none of the great stock ranges of the States and Territories offers greater facilities for the stock business than Mr. Hooker's location. It needs but the sole supervision or some able man or company to make this rival the greatest slock ranches of rexns. We are credibly lnformeu tnni uunng uie twelve years in which Mr. Hooker has been engaged in tnis stock business lie has furnished to market In the Territory over one hundred thousand head of cattle, and can no good reason why proiier management of the facilities offered by this proaerty should not treble that amount in an equal number oi years io come.

With the vast mineral wealth and the numerous mining start-ins 1 being opened in the sections Immediately south and east of this prop erty, there will be an unitmiUMi raik in the Immediate future for any scale noon which this property may be carried on, to suv nothing of the markets of Tucson and the military camps and the already existing surrounding settlements. Camp Grant, one of the largest military posts In Southern Arizona, Is on the immediate border of the Sierra Bnnlta ranch, while other military posts are but oc tanes to the north, the south the wutheast, while the great San Orlos Iu- dian reservation Is but a snort nmei the north, the route thereto lying through this pronerty. We have not- me spun sufficiently enlarge upon the magnificent opportunity afforded in this saletoeapltal and the proper energy and good business management. We believe It to be one of the finest opportunities ever offered to In vestment In Arizona.
