SOUTHEASTERN WOMEN'S EXPOSITION Cooking School Highlight Of Morning's Program Even T-bone steaks have the new look. And housewives will have an opportunity to see how the butcher gives them that "look" during, the cooking school feature of the Southeastern Women's Exposition.

Conrad Thibault WUl Be Feted Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bellman will entertain at a buffet supper on Wednesday evening, April 28, at their home on Andrews Drive. The cooking school will high light the morning's program each day of the Exposition, White's aland? Sewing Machine Ll-il feting Conrad Thibault, of New What had been begun as an earnest endeavor to write a worth-while, mundane column was interrupted by the mail bearing a special delivery, registered letter from a diamond-encrusted friend in New York. It was, as is everything these days, about the Southeastern Women's Exposition.

It follows; Dear "Deadline" Doris: Vyvyan and I have been to the fabulous House of Winston to pick out the jewelry for the fashion show at the Exposition. Yon should have, seen Vyvyan Donner with a mere handful of diamonds worth half a million blazing like dry ice set on fire with plum-pudding brandy! One piece alone a gigantic fringed clip eight inches deep contains 782 diamonds and weighs over a pound. Just think, Doris, the price tag on this clip reads $500,000, but at that it is a grand little economy number because it breaks up into seven different pieces of jewelrytwin clips, two bracelets, huge emerald-cut diamonds that unscrew and attach to rings, and a. pendant. Vyvyan said it was a whole wardrobe in diamonds you could wear them for breakfast, dinner and supper! And this isn't all that's going to Atlanta.

There's the great Winston diamond in blond color that came from one of India's oldest mines; weighs 88 carats, almost twice as big as the Hope! --y- The real purpose of this visit was for Vyvyan Donner to co-ordinate the jewels with the gowns for the evening fashion shows. You know you don't just throw this stuff in a shoebox and yell at thmodels, "Here, girls, get yourselves some jewelry!" Vyvyan had with her the neatest little white cards, size of a postal, with a color sketch of each dress in the upper left corner. Each dress was considered in relation to the jewelry- it should have. Then she made a list of the pieces chosen for each outfit. instance, the most massive, magnificent set of yellow topaz and gold worked on the motif of pine cones.

You can imagine how stunning it will look on a black gown with very low neck. We asked what was really the newest in ear ornaments. IIow much can you bear? The incoming fashion is something a little smaller than wall brackets that fall almost to the shoulder and swing and sway, It is a revival of the "girandoles" of the last cen- tury. Mr. Winston has only made a few sets of these earrings, but figures that Thomas could sell them at $25,000 the pair, and as a special for Mother's Day, he will send some to Atlanta.

So you tip off -the mothers as to what to ask for! I have so many more notes I can't read, but I remember Vyvyan chose a marvelous rosette the size of a doughnut, all made of diamonds and pearls mounted in gold. This was a departure the gold because the spellbound and all the other gargantuan glitterxis done in platinum. Vyvyan also picked out a magnificent parure (that means "matched set" in the Rue de la Paix) of blue Ceylon sapphires and diamonds. To wear with a divine blue dress. It's really going to be some show.

Vyvyan left in a great gust of good-byes to go to Hattie Carnegie's. Hattie wasn't ready for her earlier in the day. Rushing by some Fifth Avenue windows on the way, Vyvyan ppffff-ed at all the things she saw in the displays. "Last week's stuff!" she cried. "I've got all the new things for Atlanta!" With that promise, Doris dear, I bid you adieu.

In other words, it's eyelets or else! illicit uicc 2jK "DIESEL" the fashion world is divided into two parts, but not equally. On the one hand you'll find ginghams, piques, dimities, voiles, broadcloths, balloon cloths, and so forth. On every hand you'll find eyelets. If it isn't an eyelet dress, it's an eyelet petticoat, often both, or a full ballerina skirt flaunting an eyelet flounce. To make a long story short, it would be simpler to mention only the items of dress not available in or with eyelet.

But you're entitled to the "hole" story. So, let's look at it this way: A fully dressed woman would wear on the street, or should one dress or suit, one slip or petticoat, a pair of hose, the same of shoes, an even number soles, gowns, negligees, chemise, panties and but definitely, pan-of unmentionables, a hat, a handbag and two gloves. Of these, it you're of a monogamio turn of mind, everything but the shoes, hose and upper-half of the unmentionables can be eyelet If you feel a complete eyelet outfit might be overdoing it a little, and you could be right, at you can settle for eyelet accessories. In this category, you can have an eyelet hat, or an eyelet-trimmed hat, a frothy eyelet collar for a simple dark dress and to match, an eyelet ruffled petticoat. How about a pair of eyelet gloves? Other eyelet eligibles include merce, the -group went into action itself as a staff organizer to enlist all interested groups over the State In helping to bring about this health measure to combat venereal disease.
