PLENTY OF FREE PARKING us .1 'S mt Stanf ords By VIRGINIA DYSARD Atlanta Constitution Food Editor Things on the grocery counters are running pretty smooth and steady this week. There are no great dips or rises in price and nothing is unusually scarce. There are some so-called bargains in some meats and vegetables.

Smoked ham is one of these, so be on the lookout for a good buy this weekend. The best buys generally are in fresh cuts of pork and forequar-ter cuts of beef. BUY LARGE EGGS Liver is an important variety meat that is often overlooked by the food shopper. Now is a good time to prepare some for the family. Mrs.

Betty Alexander, extension consumer information specialist, reports that large-size egg prices continue downward. There is only a few cents' difference in large-size and medium-size eggs; therefore, the larger ones are better values. Broilers and fryers have advanced slightly in price, but prices have been so reasonable that they still remain excellent buys. NICE VARIETY Lettuce quality has been and continues to be excellent. Es-carole and endive are also good, and they add nice variety to the salad course, even though they are a little more expensive than head lettuce.

Although many vegetables are in short supply and higher than usual in price, the shopper can find good buys in potatoes, dry onions, carrots and rutabagas. Buy your sweet NEW OFFICERS Mrs. Frank Other new officers are Mrs. W. B.
