Our space will not permit any special mention of those who participated in car rying through the above programme, and when all perform their parts so well, it is difficult to compliment ono without being compelled in justice to compliment all We believe however that it is proper that we.snouid say inai Misses A. Ortiz, Otero and J. Borquez sustained the char acters in the pieces they played with marked ability. Misses Mizner, Vasquez Robinson, Oury, Suarez, V. Elias, Salazar, M.

A. Orosco, Leon, Otero and Ortiz exhibited great prohciency in performing upon the piano. Miss F. Leon is descry ing ot special notice for the superb manner which, she sang ine itetugee. We be lieve it was an exhibition that would have done credit to any school in the older States of the Union.

When it is consid ered that two years ago scarcely one of xue pupils could speak a word ol English, the creditable manner in which all acquitted themselves is specially compli mentary to them and to the good Sisters who have taken such pains to teach them, and we believe with ourself there was not one present who was not. justly proud that we have bo excellent a school in Tucson. iiMiMiMiriiiiMikwiin---n The Apaches attacked a ranch bo- longing to Aragon on the Eillito, 7 miles north of Tucson, on the morning of the 25th, and captured 20 head of cattle and four horses. They were pursued the same day by a detach ment of 20 soldiers from Lieutenant Bendire's company, and four citizens. A party of eight citizens followed on the trail separate from this detach ment.

The soldiers have not yet beet heard from, but the citizen party hop returned and report that they fol lowed the Indians on the trail towam the San Pedro to near the summit lf the mountain, that the Indians killeE several before reaching this point, an that -when they approached near th summit about noon on the day the stock was taken, they overtook the Indians intrenched behind rocks ahead of them. They saw about thirty Indians and found it impossible with their small force to dislodgo them. The Indians came out upon the rocks and taunted them by saying that they had plenty of beef and the stock, and if they would come up they could get them. The party on the trail below the Indians all night in hopes that reinforcements would come up, but were finally obliged to retreat without attempting to get the stock. On the 21st the Apaches took three horses (all he had) from Bickman, two miles above Tubac.

A party of citizens followed them into the Pata gonia mountains, but failed to overtake them. The stage driver saw In dians in the Picacho Monday night. We learn since the above was in type that; Lieutenant Bondire went in person with eighteen men after the Indians, and not having a good trailer with him, lost the trail and returned without finding them. It is his inten tion to at once. takethe trail and follow tho Indians if possible until he finds them.
