Police are investigating thefts at Arnold's Candy Store, on East Mairi St., and the Twin Bridges Cafe, located about seven miles south of Peru on U.S. 31. At the Arnold's Candy store, the thieves took about $50 in cash and an undetermined amount of candy. The store is operated by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Haskett, who were asleep in an upstairs apartment when the breakin occurred. Police said entry to the home was made by cutting the screen on the back door. . The cars, driven by Mrs. Margarette Clary, 41; of 1416 Liberty St., and Ralph Delaplane, 70, of 1103 E. Market St., came togeth- ter when Delaplane attempted 'a left turn at the intersection. The 1961 Clary sedan was going north on Second Street and the Delaplane 1960 station wagon was going south on Second Street at the time of the accident. There were no injuries nor arrests. made by breaking 'glass in a rear window. Deputy Sheriff Lowell Harmon is investigating, Skouras Quits As President of 20th Century Fox NEW YORK (UPD-Speculation on a successor to ebullient Spyros P. ' The resignation of the 69-year- old Skouras from .the, $139,000 a year presidency was announced. Wednesday after a six-hour meeting here of the board of directors. The board said Skouras was stepping down after 20 years for "reasons of health." Aubrey, president of CBS-TV's network division, and Zanuck. former Fox production chief and the company's largest single stockholder, were the most prominently mentioned possibilities to take over. Hoskinson, 42, former assistant cashier of a Tennyson bank, was sentenced to six years in prison-Wednesday by a federal judge in connection with a $93,000 s-hortaga in bank funds. Judge Gale J. Holder passed sentence on a charge of embezzlement of $25,000. Hoskinson pleaded guilty several weeks ago to two counts of a five-count indictment. The other counts were dismissed.
