m. Monday 8 a. m. Thermometer 57 above zero. 3" below zero.

QSaturday night there was quite a heavy fall of rain, which, with the three days' thaw, took most of the frost out of the ground. About midnight, the. wind changed to the northwest, end it grew suddenly cold. After a slight Irceze and fall of hail and sleet, a snow storm set in, continuing till late Sunday forenoon, accompanied by arviolent wind. About five inches of snow fell, and it was drifted very badly.

Coming on top of the slightly crusted mud, it made travelling very bad, and the roads were, and still are. nearly impassable, notwithstanding last night's freeze. Deserves Credit.
