After the noble Premier's full dress banquet on Saturday, in celebration of her Majesty's birthday, at his official residence in Downing-street, the Countess of Derby had a brilliant reception. Upwards of 700 persons of distinction, comprising nearly the whole of the members of the corps diplomatique, and many of the nobility and members of the House of Commons, responded to her ladyship's invitations. The visitors began to assemble at ten o'clock, and by eleven I the saloons were thronged by a brilliant company. The Ambassadors and foreign Ministers appeared in full uniform, wearing also their various decorations, and the majority of the gentlemen present were also in full uniform. Refresh-j ments were served throughout the evening in the banqueting-room.

In accordance with regimental orders, and in honour of her Majesty's birthday, the whole of the available troops in garrison assembled on the common shortly after eleven o'clock this morning, in the presence of a vast number of spectators, to carry out the details of a field-day and sham fight. The forces on the ground comprised 2.212 of all ranks, and were drawn up across the common in line, from north to south, the infantry, consisting of sin companies of the Woolwich Division of Royal Marines, being in the centre, fronting the flag-staff, and the Royal Horse Artillery and Field Batteries on the right and left. Eer Majesty's birthday was marked as usual by a grand military display on the Great Lines.

All the troops in the garrison assembled to fire a at noon. The corps assembled were the mounted troop of Royal Engineers, the corps of Royal Engineers, the Chatham division of Royal Marines, the 1st, 2d, and 3d Depot Battalions, and the Local Pensioners. The whole were drawn np in an extended line, with the bancs in the rear. When Major-General FreemanMurray, accompanied by his staff, arrived on the ground, lie was received with the usual salute. The gallant commandant then inspected the troops.

A vast concourse of spectators assembled on the Great Lines to witness this fine military spectacle.
