W. C. T. U. Meeting.

The regular meeting of the W. C. T. U. of Huntington was held Saturday afternoon in tie court house, with Mrs J.

R. Day presiding. The opening song was "Let the Lower Lights Be and Mrs. L. F.

Truman led the devotlonals. Mrs. A. A. Mc Naughten and Miss Klla Mitchell led In prayer.

One new member was ob tained. Mrs. Mary Cox conducted the study of civil government at the close the business meting. At the meeting plans for recep tion for Miss Clara M. Sears, state treasurer, wh6 will speak In Hunting ton on the evening of August 29 to be held at the home of Mrs.

J. R. Cay on Guilford atreet on the afteroawra of August 29 A committee was apolnted to call upon Mayor Charles McGrew and express the appreciation of the W. C. T.

U. for his efforts to ftave card playing abolished in all public places. The mayor thanked the organization fo Its Interest and expressed the hope that card tables will be banished soon. The' committVe was composed of Miss MaVy Cog fMrs H. F.
