May 12. -The six teenth annual Btate of the Indiana division of the Travelers' Protective Association closed In this city this afternoon with the record of being the largest and most successful in the history of the State.

This includes the convention at West Baden Springs last year, which waa regarded as a record breaker. The Logansport convention had a larger representation of delegates, and more of ficers were in attendance, including the wives and daughters of delegates and members. The attendance was conserva tlvely estimated at l.Out. The business session of the convention opened this morning in Dowilngrs Theater at 8 o'clock, btate President S. 8.

Btalcup presiding. The convention was called to order by Stellael Smith, presi dent or Post or this city, who was followed by the Slate chaplain, the Rev. J. B. Young, of this city, who pronounced tha invocation.

The address of welcome waa made by Mayor George P. McK.ee, and i response was made by State Presi dent Stalcup, who spoke In glowing terms of the welcome accorded to mem bers or the T. P. A. by the people of Lo gansport and the members of Post 7 in particular.
