WILKES-BARRE RECORD, FRIDAY, MAY 22, 1959 Hannah Mullen, Retired, Dies Former Garfield School Principal Miss Hannah M. Mullen of 318 Pittston, retired Pittston school teacher, passed away last night at 7:30 at home. member of the faculty of Pittston School District many she was principal of Garfield School at the time of her retirement in 1945. Born in Browntown section of Pittston Township, she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Bridget Boylan 1 Mullen. Miss Mullen was a member of St.

the Evangelist Church, Pittston, and Blessed Virgin Sodality. She was a graduate of St. John's High School, Pittston, and Marywood College. A brother, Bernard, Pittston school teacher, died 15 years ago. Another brother, Dean, a teacher in New York City, succumbed in 1957.

Surviving are sisters, Thomas J. Maughan and Genevieve, both teachers in New York City, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held from the funeral home, 67 William Street, Pittston, Monday morning. Friends may call tonight after 7. OBITUARY (More OBITUARIES en Page 27) LEONARD YAROSHEFSKI Leonard Yaroshefski, 222 Chestnut Hill Avenue, Waterbury, formerly of Nanticoke, died Tuesday night Waterbury City Hospital.

He was born at Nanticoke, son of the late Bernard and Frances Gajewski Yaroshefski. Mr. Yaroshefski was a graduate of Nanticoke High School and attended Wyoming Seminary. While at high school he played on two Northeastern Pennsylvania championship football teams and held the state title for throw. He attended Holy Trinity.

Church when a resident here. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Levandoski of Wilkes-Barre; children, Marie and Anita. Also sisters; Alma and Millard Galat of Nanticoke: Mrs. Ezra Jones, Riverdale, Md, and several nieces and nephews. Solemn high mass of requiem will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church at that place and interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. MRS. MARY BOBACK Mrs. Mary Bobak, 84, of 181 Boland Avenue, Lee Park, Hanover Township, died Wednesday night in General Hospital.

She had been a medical patient since May A 11. Mrs. Bobak was born in Czechoslovakia, a daughter of the late Andrew and Susan Tomko Wasiskanin. She came to this country in 1892, and until moving to Lee Park resided at 20 North Empire Street, WilkesBarre, most of her life. She was a member of St.

John's Greek Rite Catholic Church, WilkesBarre Township. Surviving are a son, Andrew Zett, Paterson, N. a daughter, Mrs. Mary Kollar, Detroit, a grandson, George Zett. with whom she resided, and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9 from the funeral home, 625 North Main Street. A requiem High mass at 9:30 will be celebrated in St. John's Church. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit, Mich.

Friends may call 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p. m. MRS. EVA BOUBONIS Mrs. Eva Boubonis of 33 Wright Corners, Plains Township, passed 9 away her home yesterday morning at at after a lengthy illness.

Born in Lithuania, Mrs. Boubonis resided in Plains the past 40 years. She was a member of St. Casimir's Church, Pittston, Surviving are these children: Phillip Evitts, Port Griffith; Julius Eovitch, Mrs. Anthony Remas, Port Griffith; 8 brother, Vincent Laeksa, Baltimore, a sister, Mrs.

Mary Trimilove, Baltimore; eight grandchildren. will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 from the funeral home, 480 North Main Street. A requiem mass will be celebrated at 9 in St. Casimir's Church. Interment in parish cemetery.

Friends may call 2 to and 7 to 10. MRS. LULU RICHARDS Mrs. Lulu Richards, of 150 -Major Lane, Plymouth, passed away yesterday morning at 1 in General Hospital where she had been medical patient since Sunday. She.

was the widow of Lewis Richards and. was a member. of the Pilgrim Congregational Church, the Davis Class and the Plymouth Senior Cambrian Club. Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Mabel Case, of Park; Mrs.

James Powell, Mrs. Arthur Hayman and Mrs. Alice Morgan, all of Plymouth; also eight grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. The funeral will be held from the funeral chapel, 56 Gaylord Avenue, Plymouth, Monday afternoon at 2. Rev.

Carl Brace, 53, of 717 North Locust Street, Hazleton, died at Nesbitt Memorial Hospital yesterday morning at 4:35. She had been ill 18 months. Born in Plymouth, October 20, 1905, Mrs. Brace was a daughter of William Thomas of Hunlock Creek, and the late Mrs. Esther Maggs Thomas.

She resided in Hazleton the past five months. She resided in Kingston most of her life and moved Reading before going to Hazleton. She was a member of Christ Memorial United Church Christ, West Hazleton. Surviving, Mrs. are her Harry A.

Friends may call 7 to 9, GEORGE HARDING Following 8 lengthy illness, George Harding, 88, of 59 Rairoad Street, Kingston, died yesterday morning at 1:30 in Mercy Hospital. A native of England, Mr. Harding was born April 13, 1871, and migrated to this country at the age of 10. He lived in Edwardsville until 1910, and had since resided in Kingston. He was employed at Woodward Colliery, Glen Alden Corporation, until 1925, He then worked AS custodian at Pringle Street School, Kingston, for 25 years.

Mr. Harding was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Edwardsville. Surviving are these children: Mrs. John Allen. Mrs.

Ethel Partington and Henry Harding, all of Kingston; Mrs. Anna Marion, Elizabeth, N. David Harding, Plymouth; George Harding, Pringle; 16 grandchildren. Funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2, at the funeral home, 717 Main Street, Edwardsville. Rev.

James Sebastian and Rev. George Pickett, Dallas, will officiate and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Dallas. Friends may call 7 to 10. ISAAC RICH Death claimed Isaac Rich, of 7 Center Street, Wanamie, Wednesday night at 11:40 at Nanticoke State Hospital where he was admitted as a medical patient May 14. He was born In Alden, son of the late Mr.

and Mrs. Michael Rich. He attended Township schools and had been employed at Wanamie Colliery, Glen Alden Corporation, until his retirement several years ago. He was member of St. Mary's Church, Nanticoke, and Wanamie Local 6765, UMWA.

Surviving are sisters, Mrs. Mary Petronchak, Alden; Mrs. Agnes Koshinski, Nanticoke: Mrs. Freda Shukwietis; Wanamie. The funeral will be held from the funeral home, 211 West Main Street, Glen Lyon, Saturday at 8:30 a.

m. NAZZARENO MAZZAPICCHI A heart attack was fatal to Nazzareno Mazzapicchi, 74, of Pittston Township, yesterday morning at 5 at his home. Dr. Rufus Bierly, deputy coroner, investigated. Mr.

Mazzapicchi, born March 26, 1885, was a son of the late Angelo and Catherine Mangini Mazzapicchi. A native of Italy, he came to the United States in 1909 to settle in Excier, where he lived for eight years. Mr. Mazzapicchi had been a resident of the Browntown section since 1916. A mine worker, he retired in 1937.

He was member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Pittston; The Roma Society, Plains, and the Educational Club of Browntown. Surviving are his wife, Celia: three daughters, Mrs. Emma ZaBrowntown; Mrs. Fred Marcellini, San Francisco, Mrs. Arthur Menichini, Browne town; six grandchildren: two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held from the funeral home, 251 William Street, Pittston, on Monday morning at 8:30. Mass of requiem will be sung at 9 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Pittston. Elizabeth Kelly, Retired Teacher, Dies Miss Elizabeth Kelly, 75, of 10 Meade Street, Sebastopol, retired Jenkins Township school teacher, died Wednesday, night at 11:20 at Pittston Hospital, where she was admitted on May 4 for medical treatment.

Miss Kelly, a member of pioneer Jenkins Township family, was born in Sebastopol, daughter of the late. John J. and Catherine Gibbons Kelly. She was a graduate of St. John's Academy, Pittston, and Marywood College.

Miss Kelly si served as principal of the 'commercial department of Jenkins Township Schools since its inception. Since her retirement a few years ago, she had been employed as an assistant secretary at St. John's rectory office. Miss Kelly had been active in all civic endeavors and parish society efforts throughout her career. Surviving is a sister, Miss Genevieve Kelly, at home, and several nieces and nephews.

WILLIAM A. DRUFFNER a William A. Druffner, 70, of 717 Main Street, Avoca, died last night at 7 in St. Mary's Hospital, Scranton, after an illness of six weeks. A native and lifelong resident of Avoca, Mr.

Druffner was a son of the late Christian F. and Mary. Krantz Druffner. He was a member of St. Mary's Church.

He was a registered plumbing contractor. Surviving are his wife, the former Kathryn Pryor; brothers, George and Dr. Lewis C. Druff-er, ner, both of Avoca; also several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held from the family home.

JOAN M. BALCERZAK John Williams Dies At Home in Kingston John Y. Williams, 70, of 25 Division Street, Kingston, died yesterday afternoon at 1 at home following an 'illness of several months. Born July 5, 1888, "In" Wales, he came to Utica, N. at an early age.

He resided in Edwardsville 52 years until February, 1958, when he moved to Kingston. His wife, the former Maude Watkins, died January 14. Prior to his retirement six years ago, he was employed as a fire boss at Woodward Colliery, Glent Alden Corporation. He WaS member of Kingston Lodge 395, First Welsh Presbyterian Church, Edwardsville, and UMW. Surviving are daughter, Mrs.

James Campbell, Edwardsville; Betty and Beatrice, at home: three grandchildren and a brother, Evan, Edwardsville. Noted Engineer Dies Of Virus Pneumonia Winchester, May 21 (P) -Dudley A. Buck, 32, one of the nation's most brilliant electrical engineers, who had been workingon a project designed to house a room-size computer in a space no larger than the human brain, died unexpectedly today. Assistant professor of electrical engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he two years ago developed the Cryotron, an incredibly tiny replacement for the transistor which, in turn, had supplanted the vacuum tube in many uses. Mr. Washko had been in apparent good health.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, Mr. Washko lived in Swoyersville until 1946, when he moved to Detroit. He was employed by the Chrysler Corporation. Mr. Washko was a graduate of Holy Trinity Parochial School, Swoversville, and of the Class of '42 of St.
