B-4 Times-News, Twin Falls, Idano Saturday, May 12, 1984 Legate Q02-006 Prep baseball campaign winding down LEGAL NOTICE LEGAL NOTICE LEGAL NOTICE IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF THE FIFTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT OF THE STATE OF IDAHO, IN AND FOR THE COUNTY OF TWIN FALLS MAGISTRATE DIVISION IDAHO BANK AND TRUST, Plaintiff RALPH R. HITE. Defendant Case No. 10138 NOTICE OF ATTACHMENT TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: Pursuant to the provisions of Idaho Code Sections 8-502 and 8-506, the following real property belonging to Ralph Hite has been attached by the Court order: 261 Alexander Street, Twin Falls, Idaho; Also described as: Lot 17, Block 8 of South Park Addition, Twin Falls County, Idaho. PUBLISH: Thursday, May 3 and 10, Friday, May 11, Saturday, May 12, Sunday, May 13 and Monday, May 14 of the twinbill.

In the opener, Bruin southpaw Nate Burke (3-2) will square off against Bonneville righthander Kendall Bennett (5-1). "Darren Stuart has pitched a lot of innings this week, so we're going to give him a rest," said Ingram. "We'll need him next week." The status of Ingram's ace, senior right-hander Scott Matlock, is still uncertain. Matlock broke his finger last Monday in the Bruins' doubleheader sweep over Pocatello. "It's still pretty swollen," said Ingram.

"He might to able to put on a glove and play the outfield for us Tuesday or Thursday and throw on Saturday, but I just don't know yet." The Bees will be without their leading hitter, senior outfielder Ben Lemmons. Lemmons suffered a bruised thigh while taking batting practice last week. And Bonneville Coach Spence Nebeker is having pitching troubles of his own. "We're almost going to have to use a sophomore (pitcher)," said Nebeker, who starts six juniors and a sophomore in his lineup. "We'll probably start Kendall Bennett (today), but he threw seven innings on Wednesday and he doesn't come back that strong.

Our left-hander Jeff Royter hasn't had much rest either. We'll start John Braase in the other game, and hope we can get by with him, our other left-hander (Wade Berggren) and our sophomore (right-hander Jamie Halverson)." Minico Coach Corey Bridges doesn't have that problem yet. The Spartans haven't played in a week. "At this point, I'd have to say (the layoff) is a disadvantage," said Bridges. "Terrence (Smith, Minico's ace left-hander) has been throwing hard, but our bats have gotten kind of cold." Smith (3-5) will face Poky's junior left-hander Jeff Shelton (1-1) in today's opener, while Minico's sophomore right-hander Troy Winmill (2-4) will square off with the Indians' sophomore right-hander Kelly Smith 1-2) in the second game.

"We're a couple of teams that are a lot alike," said Poky Coach Rick Parkin. "We both have a couple of key seniors, like our catcher Casey Standley and Smith in their case, and a lot of sophomores. We're really inconsistent tough against the good teams, and then terrible against the good teams and from their record it looks like Minico is the same." "It would be a great reward for our kids to host the first round," said Bridges, whose Spartans are 5-15 for the year. "We've got a lot of young kids on this team who've worked very hard this season." By STEVE CRUMP Times-News sports editor After two months, a few dozen rainouts, and more than a few windy afternoons spent playing baseball in 35-degree temperatures, the Gem State Conference baseball picture could come down to the flip of. a quarter.

That wiii be the case for Minico and Pocatello, who play a season-ending double-header today in Pocatello, and for Idaho Falls and Bonneville, who have the best records in the league going into the last weekend of the regular season. Twin Falls' post-season plans are already made, although that Idaho Falls-Bonneville coin flip if it happens could have a lot to say about the Bruins' chances of winning the post-season tournament. Twin Falls, which has already clinched the championship of the conference's southern division, will host Bonneville in a 10 a.m. twinbill at Harmon Park today. If the Bruins win both games and Highland sweeps Idaho Falls in Idaho Falls this afternoon Twin Falls would spend the rest of its season at home.

If not, the Bruins will have to play the final game of the GSC tournament provided they survive the first rounds in Idaho Falls. M'uico and Poky are both 5-7 in conference competition this season and have a 10 o'clock appointment this morning in Pocatello's Halliwell Park. If they split those games, a coin flip will decide which team stays home and which travels in the first round of the tournament. That tournament is scheduled to begin Tuesday. Twin Falls will host either Highland or Pocatello, depending upon the outcome of today's games, while Minico will either host Highland or Pocatello or play at Pocatello.

In the northern division Idaho Falls, Bonneville, Skyline and Blackfoot the Tigers and Bees, both 10-2 in conference games, will decide the division championship by a coin flip if they both win, lose or split today. The division champ will host Skyline on Thursday, while the No. 2 seed will entertain Blackfoot. The four survivors of Tuesday's games will play Thursday at the home parks of the two teams with the best Standings GEM STATE CONFERENCE Northern DMskm Pet. GB Idaho Falls' (16-5) 10 2 .833 Bonneville (14-5) 10 2 .833 Blackfoot (8-8) 7 7 .500 4 Skyline (1-17) 1 13 .071 10 Southern DivHon Pet GB TwinFalls'f (11-5) 3 .750 Pocatello (7-10) 5 7 .416 4 Minico (5-15) 5 7 .416 4 Highland (5-10) 3 9 .250 6 Clinched playoff host berth (Clinched division championship Monday's games Twin Falls 13-11, Pocatello 2-6 Tuesday's games Bonneville 2-7, Skyline 1-4 Wednesday's games Highland 8-6, Bonneville 64 Pocatello 9-6, Skyline 6-2 Thursday's games Idaho FaUs 12 11, Twin Fails 5-1 Today's games Bonneville at Twin Falls (2) Minico at Pocatello (2) Highland at Idaho Falls (2) records.

That means that if Twin Falls and Minico both win Tuesday, they will play Thursday in Twin Falls. The two survivors of those games will play for the conference title or the championship of the Eastern Idaho Invitational Tournament, as it will be formally called a week from today in the ballpark of the team with the best record. There will be no state Class A tournament this spring. Twin Falls Coach Bill Ingram respects Bonneville, but he'd just as soon not have to face Idaho Falls again in the title game if the Bruins make it that far. The Tigers routed Twin Falls 12-5 and 11-1 on Thursday, games in which the Bruins collected a total of eight hits.

"(Pitchers Greg) Talamaritez and (Todd) Hansen were everything we'd heard they are, but I was surprised by Idaho Falls' hitting," Ingram said. "They're just solid." The Bruins, now 11-5 for the season and 9-3 in conference, could end up playing nine games in 12 days. "That's a lot of ballgames," said Ingram. "We're going to have to depend on some juniors to help out with the pitching." That will start today when junior right-hander Kirk Slater (0-0) will face Bonneville's junior right-hander John Braase (4-0) in the second game Announcements PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TWIN FALLS COUNTY, IDAHO TWIN FALLS, IDAHO Twin Falls, Idaho March 27J984, 8:30 o'clock A.M. '4 'J i 7 Barr leads Nelson golf DALLAS (AP) Canadian Dave Barr, despite a double bogey on the 18th hole, retained a one-shot lead Friday in the windblown second round of the $400,000 Byron Nelson Classic that included a double eagle by Hal Sutton. Barr, whose only victory in a seven-year PGA Tour career came in the 1981 Quad Cities Open, finished 36 holes over the Las Colinas Sports Club course in 140, 2-under-par.

A single stroke off the pace at the tournament's halfway point and the only others able to break par for 36 holes in the difficult winds were a pair of former Masters champions, Craig Stadler and George Archer, and Iongshot Mike Smith. Stadler matched par 71 and Archer had a 69. Smith, who hasn't made expenses in a four-year Tour career, pitched in from 45 yards for a birdie on the 18th that finished off a 67, matching the best round of the tournament. Lee Trevino, 44 and a non-winner for three long seasons, needed only a round of 70 to get himself in the title chase. Trevino, taking a break from his television activities, was at 142, even par and only two shots back with two rounds to go in the chase for a $72,000 first prize.

He was tied with Frank Connor, Jay Haas and Australian newcomer Wayne Grady. Conner shot 69, Haas 72 and Grady 74. -HYPNOSIS- Can help you. Tobacco, weight, impotency, stress. Call John anytime 324-7281 KIMBERLY COUNTRY HOME to Share, private, on 2 acres, pasture for horses, Clean.
