The film deals with a desperate search for more than a million dollars in gold bullion in the desolate wilds of New Guinea.

Douhle-dealing derelicts, savage Fuzzy Wuzzies, a burly sea captain and a beautiful redhead are some of the colorful characters peopling this saga of passion, greed and violence in a treacher- out wilderness never before penetrated by white men. Payne is seen as the prospecting seafarer cruising the South Pacific in search of fortune and adventure. He finds both, plus a torrid romance, when he drops anchor off Port Moresby and plots with Forrest Tucker, an unscrupulous trader, to hunt for pearls and gold. The girl in the case, Rhonda Fleming, gets in on the scheme to rig a forced landing of a gold laden plane. But an actual crash finds her in the hands of headhunters, the pilot dead, and Payne about to be tricked out of of his share by Tucker.

The consequences include some high-speed conniving among the cutthroat fortune-hunters, a bold attack on a native village, deep- sea diving to retrieve the cargo of the sunken plane, and some rip-roaring battles i spear-throwing set. Social Comedy Combines Love And Medicine "People Will Talk," social comedy playing at the Holiday theatre, stars Gary Grant and Jeanne Grain. In the film, fun is poked a the medical profession while a the same time telling a love story. It is a story of a physician who had some strange and un orthodox ideas about the practice of medicine. Dr. Praetorius (Gary Grant), who in the course of the story proves that he is a real human being, interested in miniature trains and symphonic music, expounds on "faith, properly injected into a patient, to be as effective in maintaining life as adrenalin," and says boldly that "the practice of medicine should become more and more intimately involved with the human beings it treats rather than confine itself to pills, serums and knives." This doctor even takes a snipe at the practice of hospitals waking patients from "health-giving sleep" to feed them to suit the whims of the kitchen help, and states his conviction a patients are sick people--not inmates in the institution.
