We liear from CheAerfield, that on Saturday last, as a Man was coming out of a Coal-Pit belonging to Mr. Wing-field of that Town, just as he had reaehed the Top, and was attempting to land, his Foot unfortunately flipped, when he, feli to the Bottom, broke both his Thighs, and was bruised in such a Manner that he died in a few Hours. On Friday Evening a young Fellow, named James Laxton, a Framework-Knitter, who lived at a Place called Dunkirk, adjoir.ing this Town, was apprehended and committed to our County Caol, on a violent Suspicion of having, (in Company with some oiherg not yet taken) committed divers Thesis and Robberies in this Town and Ncighbourhood.
