House and McElbinery, of Jx-iiiKlon; W. 1. Ivory, Wayne. The session last night was merely routine business. This morning the cliuical work began under the supervision of Dr.

Cole, of Norfolk. The confidence with which the dentists re signed themselves to the manipulation of their professional brethren, was remarkable and the onlooker oou.d not help wishing that the dootois would have to suffer as many twinges as they have indicted on others. One or two patients from the city were treated, but most of the doctors had jobs they had been saving for the occasion. While one dentist pounded and sawed and bored, an interested group peered this way and that to get a glimpse into the yawning mouth to see how it was done. The most interesting pieces of work were specimens of bridge work by Dr.

Miller, of Grand Island, and Jjr. Trogdon.of Lincoln, the latter'spatient being Dr. Seeley. ThiB afternoon the society was called to order atH p. m.

There were several visitors from the city, including some ladies present. Dr. Cole read a partial report on the clinicsof the morning, which as the operations were not finished did not provoke much discussion. A paper entitled "A I'lea for Gold Fillings" by Dr. C.

N. Johnson, of Chicago, was read by Dr. Miller. Dr. J.

W. Keyes read a paper on "Christian Science and Dentistry" taking the ground that this eculiar philosophy was applicable in a measure to diseases of the teeth as welt as of other parts of the Ixidy. Tonight the formal address of welcome will be given by Kev. John Askin, and the response will be given by Dr. II.

T. King, of Fremont. Dr. 1. T.

Smith of Denver will lecture on "Submarine Gold Fillings," and there will be other papers and discussions. The public is cordially Invited to attend all the meetings of the society. AMUSEMENTS. AT TIIK NKW KKAKNKV. Remember that on tomorrow evening Jhe Mendelssohn (Quintette Club will be at the new Kearney Opera House.

This is the old original quintette or Ranized in 1k4!) by Mr. Thomas Ryan, who is yet the favorite solo clariu ette and viola. All lovers of good music should not fail to be present on this occasion as it is one of the rare opportunities for Kearney. Miss Marie Barnard (prima donna) is a highly cultivated lady, with a beautiful voice, skillfully trained. She has an extensive acquaintance with all styles of music, old and new, and is a great favorite in her own city, San Francisco.

She creates a genuine furore wherever heard. Of the other members of the club too much praise cannot be given them. Will Italic UbIi. Superintendent Mallalieu is going into nsh culture quite extensively. He is now making quite a large dam across the draw on the Industrial school grounds south of the canal.

Two ponds will be formed, one for German carp, and one for black bass. The carp, not being a game lisli, will simply lie used for food at the school. The bass, however, furnish considerable sport, and the professor wants to be able to invite bis friends up to go fishing. He has thirty black bass now on hand, the remnant of eighty which were shipped him. The rest died on the cars.

The surplus from these ponds the professor expects to turn into the canal with a view to stocking it. Letter I.
