Con." The New-York Mail, which arrived on Wednefday, brought a freih Packet of American Papers, and among them fome publifhed in the Colonies fince the Commende-ment of the Stamp-Act, but prirtted witliout Stamps. Tn Tome of thhfe dated in October, the Printers have given of their Intention to discontinue them before the Duty takes Place The Maryland Ga.cttein particular, Which has a Death's Head with Cross printed in the Place where the Stamp ufually appears) has the following Words at the Head of the Paper, broad black Lines, viz. The Maryland Gazette; expiring In uncertaiu Hopes of a Refurrection to Life ligain." By the above Papers we have the following Intelligence New-Tork, Nov. 7. Wheh the Populace deltroyed the Furnitur of Major Honsc on the ist Inltantj "they took away at the fame Firne many Military Trophies, even the Colours of the Royal Regiment Artillefy, and carried them off in Triumph.

It is expected that in a few Days all Sorts of Business will be carried Dn in all Public Offices ustiat Yesterday was hold a Market for Home Man ufactUres below the Exchange, when a great ariety of Articlcs Were expofed to Sale but the Demand was so great, that every thing was immediately bought up, as all Ranks of People take a laudable Pride in wearing what is made among ourselves. A certain Gentleman, Who by bis Dress is siipposed to be an Officer on board oiieof his Majesty's Ships War, seeing the glorious Spirit of Liberty among the People, expressed himself as follows Thofe who desire to carry the Stamp Act into Execution; ougHt to send to Holland for Erasmus for it is impossible for Flefh and Blood to do it." 77v Eralinus, infull is mfted on a Jhtely at Rotterdam. New-York, Nov. 7. Notwithstandirtg Lieutenant-Governor's Declaration, that he would not distribute nor meddle with the Stamps, but reserve them till the Arrival of Sir Henry Moore; and deliver them to bim, as men-tion'd above yet the People were not fatisfied they feared fome Deception; and were hardly restrained by the Magistrates They declared the Stamps fhould either be delivpred out of the Fort; or they would take them away by Force; which Would have been attended probably with much Bloodfhed.

After a great deal Ncgociation, it was agreed that Capt. Kennedy fhould be reqbested to take them on board his Majesly's Ship Coventry, and if he refufed, that then they fhould be delivered to the Corporation upon their Receipt and Engagement to pay the-Value of them if they were either destroycd, or fent out of th Capt. Kennedy was waited on, but pcremptorily refufed to take them, for which he gave his Reafons, and therefore they were on Tbefday Evening, aecording to the stipulated Terms, delivered to the Corporation of the City of New-York, and were deposited in the City Hall, to the general Satisfaction of the People, who been fmee entirely quiet and iatissieis that nonc has either Power or Ihclmation to distribute them, 01 Would be hardy eotlgh to apply for, or ufe them, if to be had. Oh Saturday and Night last while the People were in Commotion, the Csthnun on Copfey Battery and the King's Yard were all fpikfed up, as were also many be'longing tb tlle Mcrchants, in dreier to preveht anv Use being made of them for obtainirtg'thc Stamps. The Inhabitants of Halifax, in have allo slie'wri their Aversion fb the Stamp-Actj by hnliging their Distributor in E'ffigy.

Th Publication of the New-York Mcrcury ceased last Mbinlay, and the I'ublifher is uncertaiu osthe Time of its Rfsurrectioii; 'that the Stamps were really arrived, all the Vessels in the Harbour lowered their Colours, to iignisy Lamentation and Woe. It is reported, that to Mr. M'Evers, desiring bim to take care of the Stamps, and that he anfwered he had nothing to do with them. At present, as we are in form ed, there is not one of the Perlons ap-pointed, from New-Hampfhirc tu Georgia, that will execute the Office so tliat the Stamps are now a Conto-dity nobody knows.wiiat to do with, and are inore dan-gerous to be meddled with; thau if fhey were insected with the Pcstilence. ft is "to feil or meddle with a Stamp, than it is to neounter all the Dangers and Penalties attending the of them.
