This ordinance, prepared after the most diligent study and comparison by your city administration, enables Jerrold to provide a cable service which will include eleven TV channels, six FM channels and a stereophonic music background channel at a most attractive price of only $4.90 per month after a one time installation charge of $18.50. Here Are The Most Important Features of The Jerrold Cable TV Entertainment Package • Rdt6 •— one time installation charge: a maximum of $18,50; monthly service charge: a maximum of $4.90 The reduced installation charge of $18.50 passes on to the subscriber savings that Jerrold anticipates in construction costs as determined by its recent engineering survey. Also, we have passed on to the community the amount of a proposed 2% gross receipts tax by reducing our monthly charge from $5.00 to $4.90. • TV Programing Strong, clear, snow-free picture on these stations (all 5. Channel 18 Lafayette—a local channel • FM Programing No less than six FM channels are offered—the selection to be determined by consultation with our cable subscribers. • Continuous stereo background music will be provided. Other Features • All public and parochial schools will be given one free cable installation; six city owned buildings will be provided with one free installation. • A ten day free trial of the service will be provided to all interested persons so that they might inspect the cable before deciding to purchase. • Subscribers may disconnect at the end of any given month. • The city of Logansport will be adequately protected from any liability by appropriate bonds; the city will receive approximately $13,000 annually in pole rentals in addition to revenues derived from normal taxes. • Subscribers will be surveyed from time to time as to their preferences in cable services and these preferences will be followed whenever possible. • Two scholarships will be provided annually for the two-year college program offered by educational channel 11, Chicago; the recipients to be designated by local education authorities. The complete course will be carried on the cable system and will be available to all subscribers. However, when taking the courses for credit a tuition fee is charged and the scholarships will cover this tuition fee. • There will be no interference with existing home TV antennas. \ • Pay TV is not permitted under the ordinance. , . • Jerrold will not sell or service television sets. Much wilful confusion has been inspired through advertising, rumor and most unfortunate charges. Jerrold has refused to become a party to this. Your city council has written an ordinance which assures this community one of the most attractive end reasonably priced cable systems in the country. We are proud that the city council has selected our company as the best qualified to meet the terms of this ordinance.
