Record Set As 83 Ships Pass Soo Locks In A Day A present-day record in vessel I passages at the Soa Locks was set Tuesday with the lockage ofj S3 vessels during a 24-hour) period. Anna M. Kinnee of Flushing, the former Anna Sims of Stalwart, died Monday, June 1, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. M. Bruce in Moline, 111.

Mrs. Kinnee" was the daughter of the late Alexander and Elizabeth Sims, Stalwart pioneers. Her husband, Bert Kinnee, died in 1967. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bruce.

(Catherine) of Moline and Mrs. Lyle Rosenkrantz (Bernice) of Flushing; three sons, Rundell Kinnee of Indianapolis, Herbert of Lennon and Boyd of Harrisville; five sisters, Mrs. Earl Duncan (Catherine) of Sault -Ste. Marie, Mrs. Otto Kinnee (Emily)-of Haslett, Mrs.

Herman (Ethel) of Kingsford; -Cecil Shobbrook (Jean) of St. Glair and Mrs. Mildred Scott of Muskegon; and two brothers, Douglas Sims of Brimley and George Sims of Stalwart. A third brother, -Robert F. Sims of died last night.

Funeral services will be held in Flushing Friday. David McDojmell David McDonnell, 26, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph McDonnell of 548 Poplar, Ishpeming, former Sault residents, died May 31 as the result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident May 29 in South Carolina. His mother is the former Phyllis Shields of Sault Ste.

Marie, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs." Sam Shields. Young McDonnell was serving In the Navy at the time of his death. Surviving are his parents, a brother, Sam, and a son, David Jr. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Ronald Ryder Ronald Ryder, 34, of Kalamazoo died Tuesday after an illness of two years. He was employed with the Upjohn plant in Kalamazoo. Survivors include his wife, a former Sault Ste. Marie resident, Evelyn Anderson Haynes, a daughter, Roxanne, and two step-children, Susan and William Haynes Jr. Also surviving are his parents and a sister who reside in Kalamazoo.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Tus- dale Funeral Home in Kalamazoo. Mrs. Vallie Charlotte B. Vallie of Cedarville died at 6:15 p.m.

Tuesday at the Mackinac County Medical Center in St. Ignace. Mrs. Vallie was born in Stalwart July 5, 1889 and was a member of Les Cheneaux Baptist Church. Her husband, Joseph Vallie died on Jan.

24, 1969. Survivors include three sons, Wilfred Chedister of Xewberry. Harvey Chedister and William Chedister, both of Traverse City: five daughters, Mrs. Violet Hodges and Ina Dorgan of Traverse City, Mrs. Olive Smith and Charlotte Goetz of Cedarville and Ida Richardson of Goetzville; 14 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, Albert Watchorn of Isabella and William Watchorn of Sault Ste. Marie; and two sisters, Annie Patterson and Marvel Moore of Sault Ste. Marie. Calling hours will be observed at Quinnell Funeral Home in Pickford from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Les Cheneaux Baptist Church, with the Rev. Homer Baker of- ficating. The body will rest at the church for one hour before the service Friday. Burial will be in Cedar Cemetery.

The Thon vehicle was driven into a utility pole, snapping it off. police said. A passenger in the Thon auto, Mary Reid, 19, 720 E. Spruce was treated at War Memorial Hospital for leg cuts, police said. The police report said both autos were heavily damaged.

Donald Lawrence, 17, 707 Eureka was apprehended by Sault post state police about 8 p.m. Tuesday on complaint of Brimley State Park employ- es who charged that Lawrence damaged grass and dug up gravel while driving an auto on the reservation. State police said Lawrence earlier had been questioned concerning the alleged theft of a gasoline can from a vehicle owned by Michael Odhampaugh of Westland, parked in the state park area. Tuesday at War Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Sims was born in Stalwart May 5, 1S98. He was married to his wife, Helen, in Pickford on Oct. 13, 1934.

He was a previous resident of Sault Ste. Marie and retired from the Union Carbide company in 1957. Survivors, in addition to his wife, are three sons, James of Big Rapids, Roger of Alpena and Franklin, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Carol Hooper of Newberry, Mrs. Mabel Sod- erkmd of Cedarville, Mrs.

Sherry Preston of Alpena and 17 grandchildren. A daughter, Frances, died in 1957. Also surviving are two brothers. George Sims of Stalwart and Douglas Sims of Brimley: five sisters, Mrs. Kate Duncan of Sault Ste.

Marie, Mrs. Emily Kinnee of Lansing, Mrs. Ethel Kinnee of Iron Mountain, Mrs. Jean Shobbrcok of St. Clair, Mrs.

Mildred Scott of Fort Huron. A sister, Mrs. Anna Kinnee, of Flushing died Monday. Calling hours will be observed at the Quinnell Funeral Home from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Friday.
