Wearable, Wholly Charming! Paris Hats Reach Winnipeg By JOSEPHINEANDERSON RETAINING all their customary chic, Paris hats for fall and winter I have been modified In line and size. Glorious colors, magnificent detail and exquisite ornaments make them a spectacularly wearable srouD of hats. In accordance with shorter, head molded coiffures, Paris designers have created small bonnets, reminiscent of the Victorian era.

Many are finely tucked In velvets, velours and satin. One magnificent bonnet version for afternoon and dinner wear Is made tf black velvet, overlaid with rows and rows of feathery black lace. Suit hats, jauntily brimmed in many cases, have squared crowns borrowed from the bonnet silhou ette. One grey velour hat has square of braided felt at the back. The braided motif Is carried out on the sidi brim in a provocative fashion.

Turbans and berets are popular for morning. Many designers have created variations of these ever popular hats, adding fabulously colored feather trims. The trend toward side sweeping millinery remains in the Paris and London collections. Typical of this silhouette was a velour hat Tfi a rare mulberry shade. The brim sweeps from a narrow side to a wide jutting feather at the opposite side.

Fine grosgraln ribbon bands the brim and each seam In the crown of the hat. An emerald green velvet turban with a slight matador touch In side tabs, is encrusted with jet em broidery. A circular veil covers the tiny circular crown and extends demurely to beneath the chin, Paris designers show some hats with evening dresses, many of them sleeveless with low decolle tage.
