Foresters Aid War Effort The Canadian Order of Foresters invested $551,000 in the first and second war loans, announced High Chief Ranger, W. M. Andrew Kerr, Winnipeg. Born In Johnson, Scotland, Mrs. Monteith came to Winnipeg when an Infant with her parents. She was married to Mr. Monteith in 1900 and had lived at Killarney many years, moving to Winnipeg and Petersfield about a year ao.

Besides her husband and sister, she is survived by a brother, James Kerr, Vancouver; two daughters. Barbara, wife of R. M. Bower, trade commissioner at Sydney, Australia; and Mary Monteith, of the provincial tax office, Winnipeg; two sisters, Mrs Dick and Mrs. 'Margaret Moffatt, the latter residing in Ottawa.

C. Alward, of Winnipeg, died Wednesday in Pasadena, where he had gone for his health. Mr. Alward came to Winnipeg 40 years ago as a Salvation Army officer. Later he joined the staff of the Continental Life Insurance Company.
