The winners beat or in the opening round and then polished off Cobre 86-73 in the championship game. Cobre settled for second while Silver City was third arid or last.

Rebounds made a big difference in the game as Deming pulled down a total of 51 as compared to 34 for Cobre. Viramontes took individual game rebounding honors with 22 a i Motz and a i tied Cobre individual high honors with nine each. Franklin took game scoring honors for the outing with 20 points with seven, Delgado six, Francisco six, Parra five, Barreras three, Palomarez two, and Bradsby two. Silver got 11 points from Tim Draelos while Kenny Redwihe had ten, Steve Hopson nine, i Phil Crabtree five, Mafk Shell four, Rick i i i three, and Todd Milovich one.

The two a i i almost even in shooting from the field as Cobre wound up with a 59 per cent accuracy mark and Silver 58 per cent. Rebounding went in favor of the Colts as they claimed a total of 42 grabs as compared to 35 for the Tribe. Draelos highlighted the Silver board attack with eight individual grabs followed by Crabtree i a i seven. Hopson led the Colts in assists and extra effort as he finished with five tallies in the extra effort department and four assists. Crabtree added two assists as did Redwine.

Turnovers hurt the Colts as they gave up a total of 25 of their mistakes as compared to only 10 for Cobre. "We had a good game," said Silver head coach Mike Castillo, "we just let them get too far ahead. We were down by ten with two and a half minutes to go and we had an opportunity to win, but just couldn't hit our free throws." Juareeui said he was happy to get tne victory and cited bench strtngth as the key.
