(AP) -There was a mass exodus of the track and field contingent today, most of them Europe- bound and led by Billy Mills, Gerry Lindgren and mile sensation, Jim Ryun. The books closed on the 77th annual U.S. AAU RACING THE ASSOCIATED PRESS DUBLIN--Meadow Court won the Irish Sweepstakes Derby at Curragh. NEW YORK Affectionately, $4.10, won the Vagrancy Handicap at Aqueduct.

STANTON, Del Turn to Talent, $3.80, and Ogirema, $12.60, won the split divisions of the Blue Hen Stakes at Delaware Park. INGLEWOOD, Calif. Arks- roni, $13.20, won the Cinema Handicap at Hollywood Park. BOSTON Slystitch, $3, won the Governor's Handicap at Suffolk Downs. CHICAGO Isaduchess, $7.60, won the Modesty Handicap at Arlington Park.

The electronic timer separated Mills and Lindgren by 1- 2flth of a second, as both were clocked in 27:11.6.

AAU officials said both will be certified for a record, which smashed the 27:17.8 set by Ron Clarke of Australia in 1963. Ryun's time of 3:55.3 bettered the pending citizens mark of 3:55.4 by Grelle in Vancouver, B.C., June 5. The outstanding performance Saturday night was Bob Schul's 13:10.4 in the three-mile race. It bettered his own American record of 13:15.6. Lindgren, Washington State freshman, will compete abroad several times before the American team assembles for the dual meet in Russia July 31- Aug.

1. Mills, America's Olympic Games champion last year, is due to race at Helsinki, Finland, this week. But his plans may be changed after blood blisters developed on his left foot Sunday. This was Snell's last race in America. He plans to retire after coming meets in Europe and England.

Las Cruces, N. M. Young, Burson Win Trip To Russian Meet SAN DIEGO, Calif. (AP) -George Young, a native of Silver City, N. who now teaches school at Casa Grande, won the steeplechase in the National AAU championships over the weekend.

Young, American record holder in the steeplechase, ran the event in 8:50.6. A former University of New Mexico track star, Adolph Plummer, won the 220-yard dash. Plummer tied his career best in the 220 with a :20.7. An unattached Western New Mexico University athlete, Lloyd Burson, was third in the three- mile with a time of 13:38.8. All three were named to the American team which will compete against the Russians at Kiev July 31 and Aug.

1. WINS IN SHOOT ALBUQUERQUE (AP)--Capt. Leon E. Everhart, Holloman Air Force Base, was named New Mexico Grand Handicap champion in the 17th annual New Mexico Trap Shoot after breaking 97 of a possible 100 clay pigeons. An Albuquerque man, Eugene B.
