Having thereon erected a double iwu slury fratu building, con To Condensed milk is wasteful. It is limited use. Please let us explain There are thousands of people who think that condensed milk is very much like Van Camp's.

They are buying condensed milk for part of their uses, and milkman's milk for the rest. So we are taking this space, in our mutual interest, to explain where the difference lie Condensed Milk is Nearly Half Sugar 'A can of condensed milk is about half milk and half sugar. The sugar is added from 40 to 50 per cent both to cheapen and preserve it. In the old days, before the sterilization of milk was perfected, sugar was added to keep the milk sweet. And many people still cling to this sweetened milk because they don't know how evaporated milk has displaced it.

Van Camp's is Pure Milk Van Camp's is simply rich Holstein milk, with two thirds the water evaporated. There is no sugar in it, no starch, no preservative nothing whatever but milk. We have evaporating plants in six states, all located' close to our dairies. The fresh milk from the cows is poured into receptacles. Then the air is pumped out, leaving the milk in a vacuum.

Because of that vacuum, a very moderate heat sets the milk boiling, and evaporates the water in steam. Thus we evaporate two thirds of the water to reduce the bulk. It is that economy in shipping which makes Van Camp's cost even less than raw milk. Van Camp Paclrirtf Co. Indiaaapolia, lad.

Hnry Oeissl, Ju John JT. Osl Housewives Who Buy Condensed Milk 28 Per Cent Solids This evaporated milk is 28 per cent solids 8 per cent butter fat. Such is the milk that we put into the cans, and the milk that you get in Van Camp's. Then the milk is sterilized after the can is sealed. That's the only thing we do to preserve it.

When you open the can, and replace the water, you have whole rich milk without any subtraction or any addition, save a slight almond flavor due to sterilization. Paying a Double Price for Sugar Condensed milk may be also evaporated. But each can contains about as much sugar as milk. Let us figure out what this means. The large can of Van Camp's contains sixteen ounces of evaporated milk.

That means a full pint a full pund. Mf you buy Van Camp's by the case, and replace the water which we take out, you get a rich milk at about six cents per quart. The 10 cent cans of condensed milk contain only 12 ounces four ounces less than Van Camp's. And about half the condensed milk is sugar, for which you are paying more than twice what sugar ii worth. Unfit for Cooking That sugar in condensed milk makes it unfit for cooking.

So it serves only table uses. Van Camp's on the table serves the same purpose, and it goes twice as far because it contains twice the milk. Use You have no need for the milkman when you use Van Camp's. It gives you pure milk for your table and rich milk for your cooking. It is cheaper than raw milk, because yoa save the cost of daily delivery.

It is economical because there is no waste. It is convenient for you have it always on hand. 4 If you prove these facts, you who use condensed milk will gladly change to Van Camp's. Van Camp's Milk is sold in and 10 cent cans at your grocer's. We recommend the 10 cent cans because in them you get more for your money than you get in the 5 cent cans.

The 10 cent cans contain 16 ounces and the 5 cent cans contain only 6 ounces. It is put up at our dairies in six states by the Van Camp Packing Indianapolis, lna. Shriff a Offk. Harrisburg Pa. May jo, myiM tt sweet and why unnatural. It has but Camp's Milk is better. And Van Camp's gives you for cooking the whole rich milk the finest milk in America.

Please note what this means. When you use raw milk for cooking you don't get the whole milk, because milkman's milk separates. The butter fat rises and the solids fall. In Van Camp's you get all the butter fat; all the solids that exist in the richest milk. Thus it gives to milk dishes a richness and flavor which you never can get from raw.
