George Eley, on East Second street The social was given in honor of Mr. Hudson and was in every particular a most enjoyable occasion. Evangelist Rev. O. E.

Jones, was at the head of the arrangements and delighted everybody with the; graceful manner in which he saw to it that all were perfectly entertained. Ice cream, cakes and bananas were seived, of which all partook heartily and greatly enjoyed. Rev. Jones male an eloquent talk on the subject, Honesty and Truthfulness in Society. His remarks, although brief, were right to the point and very Impressive.

Mr. Jones is well known in this city for his evangelistic work, and an earnest desire was given expression to, that he should procure a permanent work In this city. Abont forty young ladies and gentlemen were present. The house and yard were all at their command, and all present departed with the feeling that they had spent a pleasant and profitable evening. The only querry was what made Messrs.

The procession passed through the principal streets, making an attractive display, and then passed on out to tbe Fair Grounds, where the day wts sent in festivities and re enacting old country customs and ceremonies. Capt, i red. Schaefet Is president of the Dayton Swabian Society, which was organized a good many years ago.
