Clear Lake school taxes to increase about I mill School a in the Clear Lake Community School District will be up about .76 of a mill next year compared with this year's collections. The budget approved by the school board at a meeting Saturday evening is for $773,560. Club tournament pairings set for Women Golfers CLEAR LAKE--Molly O'Dea, golf chairman, has announced pairings for the club tournament for Women Golfers. The first round is to be played before Aug. second round before Aug.

10 and the third and final round before Aug. 17, according to the chairman. Jeanne Hugh, 1960 champion, will defend her title but was not required to turn in a qualifying score. J. (Marian) Krall, Riceville. Mrs. Adams has lived in Riceville since she was 18. Her husband, the late Earl Adams, operated a grocery store here more than 50 years.

Mrs. Adams also has a son, Leo, in California, three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. This compares with $765,694 for the current year. Estimated receipts other than taxation are expected to show a drop, however, from $120,557 this year to $104,097 next year. Taxes consequently will show an increase from this a r's 44.691 mills to an estimated 45.451 mills.

This is expected to raise $669,463. Helping to hold down the increase will be the boost in the amount of property paying the taxes. The valuation of taxable property in the entire district is expected to increase from last year's assessment of $14,371,417 to this year's $14,744,448. Largest increase in the budget was 2.22 per cent for teachers' salaries, according to Supt. E.

The tax dollar is derived from the following sources: Taxation, 83.98 cents; federal aid, 1.55; tuition, 1.36; state aid, 8.37, and other sources, 4.74. The school board accepted the bid of the North Iowa Surfacing and Construction Co. to surface the front and back drives high $1.10 a square yard. Beioit rites held for Mrs. Maitland CLEAR LAKE--Mrs.

Charles Luick, Clear- Lake, and Mrs. William Trafford, Belmond, attended services Wednesday for Mrs. Luick's niece, Mrs. Henry Maitland, 60, in Beioit, Wis. Mrs.

Maitland was the former Sylvia Brooks, who was reared on a farm south of Clear Lake and was graduated from Clear Lake High School; She died Monday after suffering a heart attack Saturday. Plan social events for Lake regatta CLEAR LAKE---Plans have been completed for social events scheduled during the three-day Inland Lakes Yachting Assn. X-class regatta this weekend at Clear Lake. Most of the young sailors will be accompanied by their parents, and entertainment is planned for both groups. Mrs.

The Clear Lake Yacht Club, with Dr. Frank Ward as commodore, will be host to the 19th annual regatta. Registered are 77 X-boats from yacht clubs in a six-state area. The first social event for all X- boat skippers and crews will be a box social Friday at 6 p.m. on the Outing Club lawn.
