WILCOX FUNERAL HOME Our Aim Is To Be Worthy of Your Friendship" DIAL FL 7-2193 CLEAR TWINS A weatherman foiled plans of Ruth Nickerson, Clear'Lake, and James Quinlus, Garner, to include three sets of twins in their wedding party Saturday at the Methodist Church, Clear Lake. The bridegroom's twin, Gerald Quintus, was to have been bestman, but was unable to come from South-Dakota because of the weather. The bride's sisters Mrs. Myron (Arlene) Olson and Mrs. Byron (Pauline) Everett, were attendants and the bridegroom's twin nephews, Ronald and Richard Haberkamp, Garner, were ringbearers.

Also in --Kiefer photo the wedding party were Don Quintus, Harlan Haberkamp and Amy Everett, flowergirl. Following a trip to Nebraska the couple will live on a Garner farm. The bride is a graduate of Clear Lake High School; Coe College, Cedar Rapids, and the Mayo Clinic School of Physical Therapy, Rochester, Minn and is employed as a registered physical therapist at Mercy Hospital. Most government units in the nation will be spending more this year and looking for more revenue, from one source or another. Put off as now until next year is a more general revision of the federal tax laws, with the faint hope of some relief for individuals. The one now under discussion in Congress which individuals take most interest in is the plan to withhold 20 per cent of dividends and some kinds of interest at source. The Treasury says this' will give it a much better idea of the total amount being paid and to whom. It bopes this svay to pick up a lot of taxes on income that has gone unreported in the past.

Opposition--that is, that of the open kind--centers mostly on the costs of the withholding and on the deprivation of individuals of this income, which might not be enough to call for a tax, while they wait for months to file for a refund. Many businessmen are closely watching the Treasury's battle to allow businessmen to claim tax deductions for only half of their costs of entertaining customers. In the financial field, there's stiff opposition to the plan to increase taxes paid by mutual savings banks and savings and loan 'associations. Other increases are sought in taxation of cooperatives and of mutual fire and casualty insurance companies. Businessmen planning to spend for new plant and equipment should profit from the proposed tax credit of up to 8 per cent on new purchases.

Still more businessmen think the real change in the law should in favor of faster depreciation allowances for all capital assets.
