It is the erection of a great church to t-hs Irish National Apostle, St Patrick, in Roma a.ehurcb which Irishmen and Irishwomen all thfi world over may be able to call their own, in the capital of Christendom. It i a curious and a humiliating fact that, as the Archbishop of Dublin reminds us in a letta which appears in another column, and to which we shall again refer, though Freacii, Germans, Spaniards, even the English, h7e in the Eternal City the churches of their respective nations, a Church of St Patrick is nowhere to be found. There is an Irish Church, it is true; but while the English for Instance, have their Church of St George, and are building their Church of St Thomas of Canterbury, Irish visitors are either merged in these and confouaJed in the Continental mind as Englishmen, or they are the guests of other and more sva- pathetic nations, having no local habiiatiei and no name of their own glorious and sturdv Apostle.
