Wednesday, June 12, 1963 The Post, San Mateo, Copyrighted FOOD FOR THOUGHT A A AI Tl ordered photographer and bev- A I erage stand high-speed attendants Joan Russo, John Newsom, and Jane Schindler stop, momentarily. Thanks, kids now, GO! PICTURED ABOVE is one of the two round beverage stands in the International Plaza -coffee, tea, Postum. etc. Last week a six-year old who was munching away at one of the Big Top's foot-long hot dogs asked his mother: "Can I ride on the merry-go-round?" The answer unfortunately had to be "No," because the stand doesn't revolve. But the attendants do, as anyone who has visited the Plaza on a Saturday can tell you.

They're not only fast they also happen to serve the best coffee in town. And you get one-fourth more, because the cups are just that much larger than ordinary cups. Only a dime. too. Candy delights at Jack Jill JULIUS FRANZEN Taste delights for children and adults alike are available at the Jack Jill Candy Shop in the International Plaza.

Julius Franzen. the genial owner, says business is good and it ought to be for Jack Jill displays a gleaming array of more than 125 varieties of mouth-watering candy from the finest milk chocolate to shiny all-day suckers. (By the size of them, they look more like all-week suckers to Julius, who learned the candy business from his father, operates the stand with just two part-time helpers and he does all his candy-making in a narrow corner of the tiny space, too. There's a lot of candy-making going on Julius makes over one-third of his candy himself, in small batches, so that it's always fresh. One day.

he remembers happily, he made 26 batches of oeanut brittle, 14 pounds to the batch and sold it all! Of all his candy. Julius' favorite is the Heidi Brittle, named for his eight-year-old daughter. Tt has seven kinds of nuts and sells like mad at si .69 a oound. If you'd like to try Jack candy, here's a way you might, if you're lucky, set some free. Julius gives away a $3.00 box of aborted homemade candv every week.

All you to do is fill out a slip (name and address) right at the counter. Absolutelv free, and von have to be nresent at the Mondav drawing, Sign up this week and tell Julius sent you. STORY. two favorite rharsrtore. Adrian and were at their favorite water hazard.
