Bovd, Asst. General Passenger Agent, Philadelpbia, Pa. Election Returns by Calcium Light. In the rush of election news both local and telegraphic Thursday the LEADER omitted what it might pardonably have prided itself upon. On election night the stereopticon election returns thrown on a screen in front of the LEADER office by the powertal oxyhydrogen flame attracted 8 crowd of people that completely packed the street from the corner of the Square to the new Bennett huilding.

The news as it came in from Pennsylvania and other States, from city and county was promptly bulletined and it could be plainly read on the outskirts of the crowd. Prof. E. L. Scott, of Hillman Academy managed the stereopticon, as experience has enabled him to do--most satisfactorily.

While waiting for dispatches he exhibited scores of beautifully colored dissolving views many artistic and a number very funny, Here and there were sandwiched advertising cards of local merchants and the effect was 80 good that several leading business men applied for extras while the exhibition was going on. The returns were bulletined uotil the small hours of the morning and the interest was unabated. The scheme was a splendid success and was doubtless thoroughly appreciated. But very few have any idea of the amount of work it involved. Death of an Estimable Lady.
