22--Son THE TIMES Wednesday, May 19, 1976 Bob Foster POPULAR JENNY CRIMM TO LEAVE KPIX NEWS Changes in the local television news scene are still going on. As KGO-TV seems to have solved its problems, both KPIX (5) and KRON (4) are now in a state of flux. i Jenny CYimm, who has been co-anchor on the 6 and II o'clock news, will be leaving the station soon. This break with the Weslinghouse station comes after long negotiations on her part with the station to terminate her contract. Jenny's option will be up in June and the station has agreed not to pick it up at that time.

Termination of her contract with KPIX will give Jenny an opportunity to pursue offers she has received from several networks and a number of stations around the country. Before coming to KPIX, Jenny had been one of Chicago's most popular interviewers on WLS- TV's highly successful "Kennedy and Company" morning talk and interview show. She also built a solid reputation as a broadcast journalist in Cleveland and Cincinnati. The decision by Jenny to leave the station was made some time ago, and reflects problems at the station which caused other outstanding broadcasters to leave. Ron Majors, currently the number one newscaster in Minneapolis-St.

Paul, left the station for similiar reasons, as did Andy Park and several others. Jenny has been exceptionally good for KPIX. When she replaced Andy Park on the 6 to 6:30 p.m. news and the difficult .11 o'clock news, the ratings started to climb. In the last ARB hook, KPIX's 6 o'clock news was one of the highest rated news shows on local television.

Jenny has been unhappy for some time at the station and has expressed the desire to leave to close friends and station management. KPIX's news room since John Weston arm Ron Majors left has been like a revolving door with new personnel coining and going at a steady rate. THERE ARE OBVIOUSLY A LOT of smiles around NBC this week. The A.C. Nielsen ratings released late Tuesday showed NBC in the number one spot by a goodly margin.

This is one of the few times since last fall that NBC has enjoyed this lofty spot. NBC had a weekly rating average of 18.4, followed by CBS with 15.7 and ABC with 15.0. "Parent Trap" seen on Sunday night and a couple of pilots of next fall's programs did it for NBC. Here are the top 20 shows as listed by A.C. Nielsen: 1 "Parent Trap" (NBC); 2 --'Miss U.S.A.

Pageant (CBS); 3 All In the Family (CBS); 4 M.A.S.H. (CBS); 5 Starsky and Hutch A 6 Quest (NBC); 7 Joe Forrester (NBC); 8 Happy Days (ABC); 9 Laverne and Shirley (ABC); 10 Baretta (ABC); 11 Maude (CBS); 12 One Day At A Time (CBS); 13 Columbo (NBC); 14 Police Story (NBC); 15 Junior Miss Pageant 16 Bionic Woman (ABC); 17 Saturday Night Movie "White Lightning', 18 Rockford Files, (NBC); 19 Gemini Man (NBC); 20 Mary Tyler Moore Show (CBS). TONIGHT ON TV 8 P.M. KPIX (5) TONY ORLANDO AND DAWN Nancy Walker and Tony Randall will perform skits recalling Gunsmoke days on TV. 10 P.M.
