''Records on by Don Ayers Times Record Reviewer Dinah Shore takes to the tennis courts for recreation from her busy working schedule. The singing star has a new NBC radio series broadcast Mondays and Fridays, plus her twice-weekly NBC-TV programs. Cold winds still blowing in other parts of the country don't mean a thing to comedienne Judy Canova, star of her own NBC radio show, as she gathers roses in her California garden. This week it's hats off to the classical section of RCA Victor.

Now on the market in limited quantities is the new Limited Edition of Arturo Toscanini's recordings of all of the Beethoven symphonies. Music lovers have long marveled at Maestro Toscanini's definitive performances of those Beethoven symphonies which have been released, and now those who know and enjoy the Beethoven symphonies may hear them all under the direction of Toscanini. This edition is two tributes in one. A tribute from Toscanini to the masterful music of Beethoven and the deserving tribute paid Maestro Toscanini by RCA Victor. Toscanini directs the NBC Symphony orchestra and is joined by the Robert Shaw Chorale on the ninth symphony.

The energetic M. C.

(vitamins take Cdlyers) moved along with the television portion of the program over to the NBC network this week for a 12 to 12:30 p.m. slot Mondays through Friday. Of course, he remains with the radio version on the ABC network five half-hours a week. This is only a portion of the Collyer day, which starts at 8 a.m. when he gets on a train in Greenwich, for New York.

His first chore is a "Break the Bank" radio rehearsal, then the broadcast. From noon until 4:15, Monday through Friday, he finds time to appear hi two radio serials for CBS, "Guiding Light" and "The Brighter Day," and on one for NBC, "The Right to Happiness." Then there is his stint on the CBS-TV "Beat the Clock" show which takes care of his Saturdays. Altogether Collyer spends some 25 hours weekly at television rehearsals, 23 hours in radio rehearsals and is actually on the air seven and one-half hours. CoUyer had helped get rid of some $2,000,000 in cash prizes on "Break the Bank" since it went on the air--in radio at first--on July 5, 1946. It is one of the most popular audience shows for visitors to New York, many of whom write weeks in advance to NBC and ABC for tickets in the hope they will be chosen to try for the Collyer and Wynn Elliot, the show's host-announcer, interview members of the audience before each program.

They first pick 25 persons these are cut to the eight who have-the most interesting stories, come from the greatest distance, or are most in need of money. The person who actually hands' out the prize money--the record was known as "Miss Moneybags" around the studios. She is Janice Gilbert, who admits she sometimes gets as excited the winners. ''I still get bang out of seeing someone win who really needs the money," she said. "One of the happiest moments of my life ww when an army corporal crippled tat Korea won that $11,840." Harold Peary, guest-star host, plays a Portuguese-American immigrant in "Papa Goes to the Ball" on "Playhouse of Stars" Friday, April 17, over KPIX at 8:30 p.
