Christmas was observed by the Valrious churches in this city on Saturday evening last, with exercises appropriate for the occasion. The Methodist Sunday school had a ladder beautifully decorated and loaded with presents. An claborate program, consisting of songs, recitations, dialogues, was well rendered, the exercises by the little folks deserving special mention. and was greatly enjoyed by the large audience which taxed the seating capacity of the church to its utmost. At the conclusion of the program Santa Claus put in his uppearance to the great delight of the children and remained during the distribution of the presents which, owing to the large number, consumed considerable time.

The Presbyterian Sabbath school had a tree nicely decorated and gave a special program which was both in teresting and entertaining, reflecting much credit upon the participants. At the conclusion of the exercises a line treat was distributed, all of the scholars being remembered. At the Friends' church a beautiful double arch was erected on which were displayed many nice presents. A brief program was rendered and a treat provided for the children. Real Estate Transfers.
