Leighty at the harness shop has over a dozen kinds of fly nets. Henry Cline has the thanks of the Star outfit for a fine watermelon, Saturday. Elder Johnson, of the Brethren church of this city, preached at Augusta Sunday. It is said that Harry Halpin, at the Gem restaurant, makes the finest lemonade in the city. Harriman shipped his library arid office furniture to Guthrie, Oklahoma, yesterday, and started in the evening for the same place. Dr. Harriman was the first physician to locate in Conway Springs, and for nearly five years a very large and successful practice and has many friends here who highly esteem him both as a physician and a gentleman. When the "promised land" was opened to settlement he secured a fine claim adjoining the city of Guthrie on which he has since resided with his family, and which he is imploying as rapidly as possible with the intention of making it his permanent home. He intends practicing his profession in Guthrie, and the Star takes pleasure in joining with his friends here in wishing him that success in his new field to which, his ability and exp erience entitles him.

W. B. Long, register of deeds and candidate for reuomination, met with a severe accident on Thursday morning. He had been interviewing Mr. Wycoff, two and a half miles southwest of here, when he started down the road- eastward.

As he was driving by Mr. Starboard's cornfield, bis mare took fright at something in the tall grass on the right, and turned with the speed of lightning. The furious speed of the mare, together with the rough ground, sent Mr. Long np into the. air to the right, alighting on his head and arms.

Stunned and bewildered, he gathered himself up and looked around tor the mare and buggy. He found her lying down, doubled up in a heap, still attached to the buggy, with one shaft under her. The lines had caught in the wheels, twisted her head to one side and shut off her flight as suddenly as it commenced. Having extricated the mare with much difficulty, he drove back to Mr. Wycoff 's for repairs.

Thomas Broadfoot, of Milton, one of Eden township's solid farmers, was in the eity Tuesday and favored us with a call. L. B. Connell, dealer in live stock and grain at Anthony, was in the city a short time Thursday, and was a caller atthe Star.
