PA, PAGE MINI Begin Aug. 28 Tractor, Horse Pulling Contests lo Be Features Of Annual Fayette Fair Evening features at the eighth annual Fayette County Fair will a tractor pulling contest, horse pulling arid horse show. The fair will be held Aug. 28- Sept.

at fairgrounds near Connellsville Airport. The tractor pulling contest will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, with prizes of $20, $15 and $10 in each of four divisions, plus $5 for all qualifiers. Divisions will be up to 5,000 pounds: to 7,000 pounds; 7,000 to 9,000 pounds, and 9,000 to.

11,000 pounds. The Fair Assn. will furnish sleds and weights. The horse pulling contest is set for 8 p.m. Friday, with competition for lightweight teams under 3,200 pounds and heavyweight teams over 3,200 pounds.

Prizes of $40, $30, $20 and $12 will be given in each class. All other qualifying teams will receive $10. The sled will be provided by the Fair Assn. National Horse and Mule Assn. rules will be used.

On Saturday, Sept. 1, English horse' show classes will be featured at 1 p.m. and western classes at 7 p.m. In the English show prizes will range from $16 first to $2 fourth. Classes will be Pony class English, open jumpers without wings, three-gaited, open pleasure, knock down and out, parade class, hunter hack, ladies pleasure, five- gaited, equitation, roadster class, walking horses, open working hunters, pleasure horse, men over 50 years, touch and out, and handy hunters; The Western show will have prizes ranging from $16 i S5 fourth.

Classes are pony class, junior pleasure, under 17 years of age, stake bend, ladies pleasure, can race, cloverleaf, open pleasure and stock horses. Johns, Hershey, as wildlife information specialist, and Kenneth V. Gardner, York, as wildlife education specialist. Johns, presently serving as wild life, education specialist, replaces Robert D. Reed, who retired Aug 10. He joined the commission in 1947.

In his new position, Johns will coordinate the commission's public information program and will slso supervise its publications. Gardner, who succeeds Johns, joined the commission in 1956 as a game biologist and will coordinate education programs through- adult and youth groups throughout the state.
