A. Weissingcr General Store Beginning Jan. 4th from Los Angeles and Chicago the swift, extra fare red-and-silver sensation S-P's SHTE ff goes into daily service via Southern Arizona and El Paso The New Gold en State will be the finest, fastest train in history, between Los Angeles and Chicago via JPhoenix, Tucson, Douglas and El Paso. The New Golden State will be swift, smooth and diesel-powered. It is a handsome train with brilliant red and silver exterior.

All its Pullmans are modem, streamlined, lightweight sleeping cars. All coaches, are streamlined, reclining chair cars. (All chair car seats are numbered and may be reserved in ad- vance.) It will carry the awankest of streamlined dining cars, with wonderful food, and colors taken from the desert of your own Southwest--golden yellow, turquoise, copper. Most of the coffee shop-lounge cars are streamlined. (It takes five complete trains to provide daily service.) One of these--the "Fiesta Car," primarily designed for chair car passengers, but open to all (see illustration) --was inspired by a quaint Mexican patio and fountain.

The lounge cars are fine, modern built for high speed use-- but like two of the coffee shop-lounge cars that are not streamlined, will be replaced as.soon as additional cars are received from the builders. If you're going beyond Chicago, thereto Golden. State carries through streamlined Pullmans for New York and St. Louis--and makes convenient connections to other eastern cities. The extra fare on this extra fine train will be moderate.

For example: Fitita Car--cojf(t itiop touiist fur chair car Jiailtnf en. $6 in Pullmans from Phoenix, Tucson, El Paso to Chicago; $2 to $2.75 in chair cars; $5.50 in Pullmans El Paso to Los Angeles, $2 in chair cars. Proportionate fares from other points. (Federal tax Starting January 4, the New Golden State is the swift, luxurious way to go. Once you've ridden this new streamliner, we think you'll agree that our pride train is justified.
